Someone like Medzhidov would knock Usyk out IMO. I'm a big fan of Usyk but he isn't modern heavyweight size and I've seen him rocked a couple of times.
Seeing how some of their countrymen have been ****ed over by promoters and corrupt judging fighting abroad probably didn't help matters. I'm bummed about this (particularly Lomachenko), but I can see why they're making this move. Kotelnik probably thought he won the lottery when he signed with Don King, only to be robbed against Alexander and then blackballed for making him look bad when they needed to hype up the Bradley fight. He still hasn't fought since then.
The only thing that Gamboa has is his speed and athleticism and Vasyl is superior to him in that department in additon to having a supurb defense, being 10x the boxer and the bigger man. Lomachenko shatters Cuban glass inside 5 rounds.
Main thing I think we can all agree on, is that the boxer gets the reward he is promised. Its frustrating to see talent like Gamboa sidelined because of promotional or management issues. Hopefully Vasyl gets what he is promised and will one day make it to the pros.
They will be facing much better opposition right out of the gate than they would have as professionals.
You and RoyalTBags of the world should be happy that he did not turn on pro. Another guy less to hate. Thou it would have been hilarious to hear what would have been your reasoning to dislike that great talent.
"Nobody signed any contracts yet, but there is a probability, that i'll be boxing in WSB only one season" - Vasyl Lomachenko Looks like Lomachenko is still coming for the pros, Gamboa and friends better start running now.
