Hey guys.. Any big fans of the future great Vasyl Lomachenko that won a gold medal at the Olympic without really breaking a sweat.. I became a huge fan after watching him and would love to go meet him especially since he is identically my age weight and height... Would prolly be experience of a lifetime to get in ring with him just for few minutes.. But anyways my question is does anyone know where he lives?? I know somewhere near Odessa or republic of Crimea but I haven't been to Ukraine in 12 years so don't know. Do they have yellow pages online or does anyone know what gym he goes to??? I want to visit Ukraine this year and my goal is to visit his gym and hope to see him there or maybe at least get in touch to meet up with him. I heard he is unknown even in his hometown so I'm pretty sure he is no ego case like de la hoya or mayweather and would not mind if someone from America would want to meet the guy or at least take him to dinner to just talk to him... Anyone can help or more familiar with Ukraine? Vysotsky perhaps?? Andrey
No idea, but keep us posted. The dude is a hell of a fighter. Hope he turns pro immediately after 2012 and doesn't take on too many bums cos he has the ability to go straight in at a good level.
If I do find him I defiantly will. But yeah he is amazing... Seriously like an offensive energized Pernell Whitaker. Just don't see him taking punches at world class level.. So hopefully he is well managed.. Top rank should sgn the guy. Andrey And he wil only be 24. I'm sure he will go at pretty fast pace at pro cause his dad is making all the d
Was born near the Dinister mouth so probably a good place to start the search. So coastal-ish near Moldovan border.
They say he is a Miami Heat fan of the NBA. If I was a U.S. based promoter/manager/trainer the pro contract and season tickets would have already been on their way first class to Ukraine.
Check out his internet page, Facebook profile & social networking sites for input. Throw a mail to Fightnews.com for Ukranian correspondent Alexey Potapov's or to the Scene for Dmitry Mikhalchuk's contact, I'm sure they'll help. I believe Alexey Sukachev posts here but I don't remember his nickname, PM him he might have Vasyl's contact, also, Vysotsky might be able to help too.
I was under the impression that he was going to stay amateur for another few years on his dad's advice...? Seems like a pretty stupid idea really, and he's also looking to compete in the 2012 Olympics.
I like that Vasyl & family choose their own path and not succumb to money, and believe me, there are HUGE offers being thrown at them. But they opted to stay amateur and go for the London gold and national pride instead, and that shows you pure class, they must be very humbe and down to Earth people. Lomachenko is the best amateur boxer on the planet and a heavy favorite for the Gold anyway, so once London is done, they'll gonna get even better offers with huge signing bonuses, so there's no rush, especially as he's just 22 and probably still getting better.
vasyl likes to train in miami.he didnt go to moscow for the championships, along with usyk.I think he will be protected from the people who sho intreast.every promoter and his dog is trying to lure him ,but money means nowt-he lives to box
I dont think wasyl's dad wants to hand over the reigns to another trainner.I can understand that and his son's loyalty is amazing.if that was me and my papa we would have ended up fighting each other. great dicipline they both have.he says he wants wasyl to grow to his natrual weight which will be about 24-25 years of age,but i still think its hard for his dad to let go-respect to the lomachenko family.peter-cambridge-uk:bbb
Huge fan of the kid, he's one of the best prospects I've seen in awhile. Barring bad luck, he'll be a future P4P fighter. Best of luck in trying to meet him- be sure to keep us posted!
