Vasyl Lomachenko or Naoya Inoue, who ranks higher P4P?

Uh, Linares gave Loma issues for sure. Either way, Linares and Campbell are both bigger than Loma just like Nonito was bigger than Inoue. Did Inoue and Loma fight their best fights against Linares/Campbell and Donaire/Carmona(I'll that in there too because this was an off performance by him forsure), no. But you can't expect perfection every fight. The closest we got to that was Mayweather, and even he got hurt badly by Mosley. More hurt than Inoue was against Donaire. Was Mayweather exposed because he got buzzed by Mosley?

Neither Loma or Inoue were exposed unless you thought they were actually gods and not human.

 

P4P I have Inoue above Loma in Rankings but I can see why others might think different.

 

i got monster higher. i can see how some would have loma higher, he has fewer weaknesses. but i see the donaire fight similarly to the salido fight. inoue was on a historic run and was going up against the smartest fighter he had yet to face, who happens to have an atg rock crushing left hook. his power, durability, stage of development, and quality of performance in last 5 fights, gets him the nod from me.

Fair enough. To me, Loma has fought better opposition, though I will say Inoue was more ducked. He couldn't get a fight at super fly weight if his life depended on it. If he got those fights against Chocolatito and Estrada, and had those 2 names, I would put him above Loma. And I think all of us would favor Inoue over them. Loma is also more well-rounded.

 

i think monster has a bigger upside. loma is gettin long in the tooth, and his skills are very speed and reflex dependent. he doesnt have the power to consistently rely on it, and he doesnt seem thirsty for career defining fights. monster is the opposite.

 

I completely agree that Inoue has far more upside. Loma is at his peak right now and isn't going to get better, but at this point I rate him above Inoue. What do you mean by Loma isn't thirsty for career-defining fights though? I feel like he does want a big fight, but really there's nothing available for him. I mean Tank is probably the best fight, but Tank doesn't really want that Loma work.

 

How did you come to the conclusion that Inoue was seriously hurt? He initiated a clinch. And the again in the round where Donaire landed an absolute bomb of a right hand. His legs weren't jelly and he wasn't knocked down. And at NO POINT did it look like Inoue was ready to go or even close to it (delayed reactions, slowed reflexes).

 

he was repeatedly offered the pac fight, mikey went into his dressing room to ask for the fight before moving up, he now has a belt that allows him to go to 130 and fight a top fighter there... who is he fighting next?

I rate Inoue's win over Donaire over any of Loma's or Crawford's wins so I have Inoue above both right now on the list.

 

It’s a tough call because they are both very good. At this stage, I wouldn’t argue with either being on top. I give Loma an edge so far because he’s giving up a lot of size at 135 and beating guys with his skill. Inoue gave up some size to Donaire but Nonito is no spring chicken. Long term, Inoue has a better chance to move up as he is younger and still growing.

 

The Pac fight is rough bro, you know Pac is too big for him. As for Mikey situation, I wish that fight happened too. The Mikey/Spence fight never should have happened.

 

I'd leave Inoue above Loma in my list. A rejuvenated Donaire at 118, is a fairly bad style match up for Inoue. He's bigger, has an iron chin, and punches like a mule. Inoue passed the test, but had some rough spots. Donaire at 118 is a comparatively more formidable opponent, than Linares, Pedraza, and Campbell are at 135 for Loma. I won't punish Inoue for taking some damage, when Loma took damage from guys who were equivalently lesser.
