    Dear Joe Rogaine,

I am sorry I can't reply to you on youtube, because I look like Dan Rafael & that will hurt my credibility as a boxing expert...so we will just stick to some info that hopefully gets passed on to you

    Black Sea Greeks
Till this day some Hellenic presence is all over the coastal regions of the Black Sea, including Odessa (Odessos), some still speak Greek Variants, while the majority of Black Sea Greeks are linguistically assimilated.

Vasyl Lomachenko was born in the Greek Kostrums core, specifically of Tyras & Nokanian, both were already breeding grounds for Greek populations on both banks of the Deniestyras river, long before there were any Russians.

Vasyl Lomachenko the text-book gracile 5'5" fleet footed small built Mediterranean. How can you mistake him for a Russian?

If Lomachenko gets somehow beat up by the Haitian slick southpaw, He will still be the second greatest Greek fighter of all time.

    Definitely not Greek, Nor Hellenist.

Don't make assumptions, Greeks were the main element of Odessa/Odessos. However, the district that Vasyl descends from is historically very Greek.

I Know Odessa was historically Greek. But that was looong time ago. I came from the Black Sea area too.

Lomachenko's looks like a typical Ukrainian, so what if he's 5'5'' ?? He doesnt have any Greek in him.

Odessa itself is a modern Metropolis that was settled by various people thus having a lesser Greek substratum when compared to the less urbanized regions around Odessa. Where Greeks been Greeks for more than 2000 years (The Soviet era & the world wars hastened the assimilation of most)

Best Greek fighter of all time is Eder Jofre if we consider his ancestry.

Loma is short, but apart from that he doesn't look like a Greek. At all.

There is no typical Ukranian look (unlike Han Chinese for example), Ukranians have various types, Lomachenko phenotype is one of those, its present in Ukraine (very rare), but its more Frequent (rare) in Greece, Thrace, Banat & the Danube Delta.

An autosomal test of Vasyl Lomachenko will more certainly cluster him with Greek as the closest, followed by Bulgarians & the Serb-Romanian types settled in the Banat/Danube Delta region.

Its not a high frequency phenotype. Its rare in Greece & even more rare in Ukraine to walk into a guy that looks like Vasyl Lomachenko. Hence the exceptional talent...Genetics play a major role
