His parents do not look Greek, his mom has blonde hair and blue eyes. Assuming that is not from a bottle or contact lens.

Rigondeaux is undoubtedly Haitian, a good percentage of Cubans are the children of French speaking Haitians.

Haitians always had a hard time living in Haiti, with D.R. chronic Afro-phobia since the Spanish Haiti era & Louisiana complete incorporation into the USA, Cuba became a preferred destination up until the Castro era, then Haitians switched to the North American mainland.

Greek identity is distinct & restricted, mainly because it didn't encourage the assimilation of peasants/farmers of other cultures when they had the chance to do so. When we look at the Greek Language, Culture & at one point imperial influence, we see no attempt or interest in assimilating peasants/farmers.

Compare Greek to any dominant modern language, culture & we see new identities imposed on subjugated peasants, with the 99% peasants/farmers offspring associating with that "identity"

By this logic you could argue that a lot of Greeks are actually Slavs. A lot of Slavs settled in what is now Greece and over time became Hellenized. There is actually still a large Slavic minority in Greece.

You are missing an important point

Modern Greece was always Greek as far as recorded history, The Byzantine empire did buy off some Germanic & Slavic soldiers in the Byzantine era & those genetic contribution is obvious in some Greeks.

    On the other hand

Coastal Ukraine was settled by the Slavs in the 1800s, so the Greek identity of Odessa should not be a surprise, because the Slavic tribes came to a region that the Greeks called home for more than 2000 years. Vasyl hometown is the core of the Greek part of the Black Sea. (The other folks who called the Black Sea home were not Slavic either...)

There are actually tons of blonde hair blue eyes people in greece, especially ancient greece before they were mongrelized by the turks. Did you know the singer George Michael was greek?

"Modern Greece" only exists for two centuries. Modern Greeks are a mix of all kinds of people who meddled there, including Slavs. They're not an ethnic group of their own, they're a mixture of all kinds of ethnic groups and races. Modern Greek identity is an artificial construct of the 19th century nationalism. Before that they were Ottomans and even their Orthodox Church was loyal to the Ottoman empire. Modern Greeks have nothing in common with ancient Greeks neither culturally nor racially.

There is no Greek identity of Odessa stop being delusional. The Slavs always drove out everyone else in their paths and assimilated whatever was left. There is no Greek ethnicity to begin with, it's an artificial identity from the 19th century, a construct.
