    Look at it this way.

You know you've arrived when people go from making excuses for you to making excuses for your opponents.

lol yes he did drain him. He knew exactly what he was doing. Canelo didn't contradict himself when he said he would fight him at 150 years earlier. He said he would fight him at that weight then and then Mr ''I don't do catchweights'' held him to it years later in order to try and drain him so ''there could be excuses'' lol.

    Now scram.

I never said Loma wasn't skilled enough to land on Rigo. Im saying that Loma with his size allows his skill to easily land on Rigo. Activity is part of this skill which size aided him in this fight.

Lomachenko definitely landed when Rigo ducked low. He was just skilled and didnt get eager which may have put himself off balance. Loma prioritizes position more then lets say pacquaio.

Its very clear from fighters whether they have alot of confidence in their power to produce punches or remain selective. This power corresponds with accuracy as well as balance. Like for May-Pac, it was clear from R1 that pacquaio was not going to have an easy time landing or producing power on may simply because of the way Mayweather asserts himself with his stance/position. As for this fight, Rigo didnt attempt to use his straight left which shows little confidence in his power to gain Loma's respect and as you say effects his accuracy, timing. It should be noted that if Rigo had timings or openings, that he may have pulled his punches simply because of balance issues to commit and the counter exchanges of Lomachenko made easier by the lack of respect for Rigos punches allowing heavier commitment.

True the fight was always in the centre, similar to May-Pac, but if you have no respect for your oppenents punches then as a conservative boxer like Rigo he would be beaten due to lack of committment to exchanges and counters. Also, Rigo has no inside game other then to grab(which he is strong) which definitely was exposed in this fight.

Rigo didnt even attempt to counter (which is his main style) the 3 uppercuts. It exposed his unwillingness to exchange or counter against a bigger size but also defensive aware Loma. 3 uppercut combo is not regular in boxing cuz its punishable. Rigo couldnt punish because Loma's awareness is aided by his size. He would have easily seen Rigo shift. Therefore, Rigo just gave up that encounter.

Rigo has faced bigger fighters. But when they have the skill, iq and awareness of Loma then its not looking good. Yes Rigo was more physical, but you dont need to use size physically to beat your opponent. Like mcgregor has size advantages over his opponents but he doesnt use it physically. Instead his accuracy is aided by height and reach. Also the grabbing exposed Rigo's lack of inside game that he needs. Andre ward was able to use hooks to the body against a bigger opponent as an example.

No way in hell would May-Marquez carry out the same if they were the same size. Not a chance. Mayweeathers defensive skill was aided by his size. That lead hook by Mayweather would not be the same if they were the same size. Lomachenko was the right size and skill to make Rigo quit. Dont take this as me taking credit off Loma. But to deny size has not having a factor is crazy to me.

You only call out Floyd's contradictions but not Canelos contradictions!? "Years later", you say Canelo was 23 numbskull!

Just one more corner retirement and Lomachenko will officially have more RTD's than KO's.

Has there ever been a championship level fighter where more than half of his career stoppages have come via the opponent quitting?

His size had very little to do with Loma's ability to land. The reach advantage is typically what impacts accuracy and Rig had the advantage in that area.

Rig has faced taller men before Loma and they couldn't land as frequently as Loma did...Rig also had a much easier time finding his mark on taller men than with Loma tonight. So this really comes down to the style and skill components.

Being heavier or taller doesn't effect accuracy when you are talking about guys who are crafty, savvy pugilists. Now if we were talking about a guy like Margarito....or Golovkin...then yeah...weight, height and reach play a major role in how fights unfold inside the ring. But both Rig and Loma are finesse boxers who rely on beating opponents on ring IQ, Strategy and skills...instead of mauling, roughhouse tactics to win.

Rig is always very selective with his punches. Tonight was no difference...the problem was there were very few opportunities Rig could take advantage of because his footwork was being offset by Loma's. The constant angles and movement coupled with the combinations from Vasly made it too difficult for Rig to find openings. When he did unload, his timing was off and accuracy was off so he landed next to nothing all night.

Rig attempted to land the left a few times but missed....every single time. That was discouraging because his power means nothing if it can't hit the target. Loma was able to frustrate Rig and mentally break him down by taking away his best offensive weapon.

I disagree about JMM/May. That fight looks the same no matter the weight. Stylistically Floyd is all wrong for Juan. Floyd's defense wasn't aided by being bigger....his defense was aided by his skills, speed and reflexes.

I fully agree that size matters in most fights, but not when it's between two highly skilled practitioners who do not use a lot of infighting where roughhouse tactics, pushing, leaning and mauling tactics are integral to either mans style.

I gave Rigo no chance. Look at my post history. I haven't posted a lot lately so it would be fairly easy for you to find. If you can find anything that even hints that Rigo has a chance I'll donate to your favorite charity.

Of course weight impacts accuracy. Really are you this delusional? You are far more accurate when you are less cautious and terrified of getting hit. Rigo had to really "pick" his shots after the 1st round. Also rigo had to put on another 8 pounds just so he would have more punch resistance. Now if Rigo was draining himself to 122 I actually say it would benefit him going to 130, but no, he was tiny at 122 to begin with. He put on 8 pounds of unnecessary weight just for resistance.

Loma himself said that Rigo did not belong at 130. Now go away and be honest.

It was ****ing savage, and sadly Loma won't get his revenge, Salido retired after being brutally KO'd.

"fans" is the important word there. A friend of mine called me up before the fight and asked if he should put moeny on Rigo," I said man are you ****ing kidding."

In boxing when it's two talented fighters, the younger, bigger guy wins %90 of the time.
