It’s an interesting clash of styles since Pedraza will be the most cerebral fighter Loma will face. The Sniper isn’t the most naturally talented guy Loma would have faced but he’s likely to be the trickiest. I still favor Loma but wouldn’t be surprised to see Pedraza cause him issues with that long snake like jab. I’m assuming Pedraza has at least a 4inch reach advantage and he’s just the type of boxer that knows how to fully utilize it.
A one-sided stoppage for Loma. Since Loma tends to toy with his prey for the first two rounds it might go as long as 6. Candidly, Pedraza was lucky to have gotten past Beltran.
There was no luck involved. He had a great plan to deal with Beltran, stuck with the plan since it was working, and beat him up badly. Did you even see the fight? He jabbed Beltran's face bloody, knocked him down with a vicious uppercut, and pounded him without remorse in the 12th round.
Loma boxes his ears off for 6rds, Pedraza's corner reluctantly let's him leave the corner for the 7th but he gets those ribs toasted by a straight left, right hook combo and goes down for the count. Overall a better and more competitive fight than Ole' Beltran would have mustered.
Pedraza will put up a good fight, but most likely gets stopped within 9 rounds. Pedraza has a bad habit of taking rounds off once he thinks he's ahead, which just won't cut it against elite talent.
Disagree with the last sentence profusely. If this was my first time seeing Pedraza I would have easily felt he was in complete control at least strategically the entire fight he handled Beltran the way he should have. I’ve seen Pedraza for a while now so I’ll admit I saw some old demons creep up mid fight but he seemed to remain focused for at least 85% of the bout.
Good fight, Pedraza has skills and size so it will be interesting to see how lomachenko adapts, but I see Loma getting Into his groove aaroynd the 3rd or 4th round and the speed and allusiveness will become too much, and pedraza gets stopped late in the fight
I agree. He had a great plan. But he was lucky not to have been caught by Beltran. He just dodged the bullet on multiple occasions. Hey, Pedraza looked great. I was pulling for him. I still think he got lucky, though, that he didn't get caught.
Pac, Garcia, Crowford yes, but Pedraza..no way.But i think Lomachenko will wait till Garcia will move up and never will fight him or Pac/Crowford(even more dangerous in my opinion).
I don't think Lomachenko has little to worry about tbh. Easy fight, he'll have him stopped in 6 to 8.
