Lomachenko struggles with pressure fighters but I don't think LSC is that kind of fighter, he doesn't REALLY pressure in a way that Salido does by rushing and just throwing shots from awkward angles, he throws lots of basic 1-2 punches while keeping his distance. He'd get badly outboxed by Lomachenko, maybe even stopped.

Looked like the same Leo to me, kept his distance more and jabbed more but that's about it, understandably so as he wasn't against a total journeyman.

Like he has been as of late.

Would love to see this fight. I would favor Lomo by a UD. Sadly, because of uncle Al and old man Bob, this fight doesn't happen.

mares is for real. outside of getting caught by a great shot (once), hes beaten a solid group of guys. leo wasnt about to just steam roll a fighter of that caliber. he did what was necessary to beat him, and he did it with skills most wouldnt have thought he possessed.

I think Santa Cruz under utilizes his height and reach. He is more effective at a distance, when he isn't facing bums. When he fights bums, he can swarm or do whatever he wants, but like we saw last night. Mares is capable on the inside and dirty. Cruz was clearly more succesful when he gave himself a little distance.

Its possible LSC could pressure the hell out of Lomo like Salido did, and win a ud12

Mares is a solid contender. A bit dirty but solid.

Lomachenko hasn't shown me the type of power, to even suggest he would stop a guy that I haven't really seen hurt yet. Also, a long basic 1-2 can do a whole lot to a better boxer with shorter arms. Cruz doesn't look that primitive with his one two, where it couldn't be effective at controlling distance.

This is why I didn't want Santa Cruz to win (and I like Mares).
Santa Cruz like his Haymonite buddy Lee Selby can pretend they want to fight Lomachenko but they are ultimately protected by Al Haymon.

I wanted Lomachenko to just hurry up and unify against these guys so he could get a legacy achievement and then go for legacy fights against very good fighters like Rigo, Walters, Gamboa, Miura, Uchiyama and a rematch with Salido etc.

I will say I think it's very unlikely and I don't think it'd be a KO, it'd probably be something like corner stoppage or something of the sort.

As for the 1-2 thing, sure, it'd be a effective maybe against some other boxer type but Lomachenko is extremely good at controlling the distance, creating angles and has amazing defense. I think that kind of style plays right into his hands.

Very good fight. I think Loma would win but it wouldn't be easy, and it wouldn't be a shut out, more like 117-111 Loma.

Please, Leo barely had power at Bantamweight and couldn't hurt Mares, Salido is way to big and has far too good a chin still, he'd walk right through him.
