I'm glad someone around here has the common sense to see that.

He truly is. Really has no defining win in his career, outside of a Rigo who never did anything above 122. Sh!t the bed against Lopez, and lost to a completely average fighter in Haney. Even if you did have Loma winning that fight and even if he is past his prime, no ATG has any business losing to Haney.

Yet you have these boxing newbs on the general forum wondering if Loma could have beaten Floyd.

Loma's one of the most overrated fighters of my lifetime. He'll make the HOF, and I won't have any problem with him making it, but never ever ever put Loma in the same class as a Mayweather, Duran, Chavez, Whitaker, etc.

He's MILES and MILES below those guys.

Nevermind those guys, I don't even consider him the same league as Camacho.

Loma was (over)hyped up by a media that was desperate for another superstar to fill the void left by Mayweather & Pacquiao. Ironically, in elevating Loma to that position, they overlooked 2 fighters who have shown themselves to be far worthier of that mantle in Crawford & Inoue.

I vividly recall the Lomo vs Duran at 135 or below threads on general where there was a near consensus Lomo would take it... I don't know what these people are smoking but I need some, lol. It's absolutely wild how the goal posts move each time he losses or under-performs. A very talented fighter but hardly some transcendental great.

I got ripped apart by so many groupies on this forum, because even in Loma's pomp, I said that Crawford was a better fighter than him, which was a HIGHLY unpopular opinion to have at the time.

Look what history showed: Crawford is indeed a much better/greater fighter than Loma.

That's really nothing surprising for the general forum.

Circa 2011, i vividly remember like 70% of the general forum saying that Khan would beat a prime Chavez.

I also might add: The narrative around Loma would have been COMLETELY different had his peak occurred 16 years earlier.

Had he peaked at 130 during the time when Floyd, Corrales, Casamayor, and Frietas were all in their primes, I assure you... Loma would be on no P4P lists.

Yeah those guys weren't natural bantamweights like a old Rigo. Casamayor would have been a bad styles match for Loma for my money.

There's never been a time in Loma's career when I rated him #1 p4p - I always had at least 1 (sometimes 2) fighter(s) rated him over, whether it be Crawford, Garcia, &/or Canelo.

Ten years or so from now, Loma's fans will really have to answer the question: Who the Hell did he ever beat? Their only answers will be tiny Rigo and the legend in his own mind known as Gary Russell.

His resume of wins is absolutely pathetic save for those two guys.

Ugh now you're implying Loma has lost! Now let me list 50 excuses as to why he's actually undefeated in my own mind... :rosstheboss

He was just "downloading" for 6 rounds against Lopez, give him a break.

Thankfully Loma won't even go down as the greatest Ukrainian of his era, let alone greatest overall.

I've always said that a great counter puncher is Lomas kryptonite, Mikey just happens to be one of the best counter punchers in recent times. I think Mikey had what it took to beat Loma, it's just a damn shame we never got to see it.

Mikey had a higher ring IQ than Loma, despite not being as physically talented. But like I said previously, I think he'd blow it. Teofimo wanted to win, and was willing to put all his cards on the table to get the victory.

I don't think Mikey would want it enough. He'd allow Loma to outwork him down the stretch.
