Lomachenko fought Valdez with a broken hand in the amateurs This content is protected Valdez's style gives Lomachenko too much room.
Loma is one of the best technical fighters atm, some might consider him the best, and he destroyed a solid, larger fighter with ease. Valdez equally looked impressive against Gradovich, but both Martinez and Gradovich looked like shells of their former selves. We know Loma struggles with elite brawlers like Salido and Valdez is a boxer/puncher. Loma has to be the clear favorite at this point. Not even a bonafide boxer with lightning quick hands like Gary Russell Jr could handle a master boxer like Loma, but Loma looks like he may be defeated if you don't play his game.
Yea Valdez loaded up way too much, but not bad for a green Valdez. He did well scoring to the body and using right hand leads against a southpaw, he could of use feints alil more. That scoring was horrible tho.
Valdez was 18/19 at that fights, so no shame on him. And yes i know that Lomachenko was around 21/22 but he was clearly more experienced. At this moment Lomachenko has clearly the advantages over Valdez who hasn't faced a top fighter yet, so he should get some good opponents before fighting against a prime top fighter like Loma. But it would be a fun fight in some years.
