There was nothing weird about it. Teo just had a better gameplan that night. He applied pressure, took away Loma's angles, and forced him to go for broke in the later rounds. It was a close but competitive fight. Teo and Loma are my favorite modern fighters.

i like his response. respectful of the mans game and accomplishments, but asking for that smoke. i favor shakur, and i agree, the level of execution will be off the charts. a master who has seen it all, vs the young phenom who is ready to take his spotlight.

If Devin vs Loma was close I’d have to go with Shakur. Too sharp. He wouldn’t get the stoppage though.

Loma is documented to have fought that fight with a torn shoulder. THAT's exactly why he didnt punch the first six rounds. He confirmed had shoulder surgery on the Monday after the fight.
He was cocky and arrogant to have fought with one shoulder but he did.
Loma still deserved a draw anyways.

Except it wasn't close. Loma won 8-9 rounds against Devin. Abject robbery.

Shakur isn't as big as Devin and he's not as good. Styles make fights.
Shakur's defense of hopping backwards when he senses a punch inbound isn't a recipe for success against Loma...Loma will cut that distance with the best footwork and combinations in boxing.

Loma goes full matrix on Shakur and puts the fear of God in him. Shakur could barely deal with the pressure of Nakathila or De Los Santos and Loma is a whole other ballpark compared to those two. Loma would turn the ring into a pressure cooker and would do worse to Shakur than an actual pressure cooker did to Rigo’s face.

If we re going to be dishonest, Haney clearly won 8-4. That’s the equivalent of what you’re doing.

    Wasnt close at all.

It was competitive , but the scoring wasn't close. Haney lost 8-9 rounds. Just as letterman called it.

That blond fro was snapping back every round and flying all around.

That was dominate. No surprise Garica landed the money shots at will...and crushed him like a can

You're the only one being dishonest here. That was a disgusting robbery. One of many in our fair sport, granted. That said, Haney is a diversity hire. He should go to work for Boeing.

It was a close fight that Loma edged. Loma had a super dominant round in 10 or 11 I forget, but it was either 7-5 loma or if you were generous to either side 8-4 for Loma or a draw. In no way was this fight not close.

Didn’t Loma have a shoulder injury though? I’m not saying it’s the reason he lost or anything but I could have sworn he had to have shoulder surgery shortly after the fight and that he’d apparently injured it in training. Again, not trying to make excuses for Loma here but I just remember hearing about this.

    I lean towards Loma

Not easy for Loma being as old as he is, but Shakur has shown me nothing to suggest he's elite

This is potentially an easier fight for Loma than Haney was. Shakur is more defensively responsible than Haney but he's so hesitant to commit to offense, which makes him insanely low-volume, that if Loma can pace himself well, he'll win many rounds from activity alone. Shakur also simply doesn't have the power to make Loma second-guess himself, like Teo did.

If they fight at the end of this year, I pick Loma, but the later this fight is delayed, the more it swings into Shakur's favour simply because Father Time is undefeated and Loma is coming to the end of his career
