Maybe he will beat him, we'll never know. Maybe he'll be the best who's ever laced them up, we don't know just yet. He could lose his next ten fights, it's too early to declare anything imo.

I still don't favour him over Saddler and it's a shame we'll never find out who was right.

I've been to three Loma fights. I rate him #1 pfp, just ahead of Crawford.

I would favor Loma over Arguello wide. Bad style match up for Alexis.

Benny Leonard as great as he was suffers from the technical & training limits of his era, handicapping him slightly.

Pep and Mayweather fights could go either way, but I would slightly favor Loma over Pep due to techical & training evolution along with Loma being harder puncher. Mayweather had pop at 130, this would be a fascinating match up. Too close to call with Floyd.

Which brings us to Sandy Saddler, who could teach a thing or two to Bernard Hopkins, Evander Holyfield, and Orlando Salido about unconventional ring tactics.
The reach, power, and highly aggressive dirty style would be a nightmare for Loma. Saddler can't win a decision against Loma, but can Loma last the distance, especially over 15 rounds? I've watched the 3rd and 4th Saddler/Pep fights many times, and Pep retiring on the stool twice despite being ahead has always surprised me. It suggests physically and especially mentally he had despaired of achieving victory. In 3 of the 4 fights, he didn't see the end of the 4th (ko), 8th (tko on stool) and 9th (tko on stool) rounds.

I couldn't make Saddler an underdog against Loma. Too bad Burt Beinstock is not posting anymore, would love to hear his opinion since he saw Pep vs Saddler 2 on tv.

Has anyone brought up Loma vs pre-Rosario Hector Camacho yet?

Lomo is not out of the money in any of these fights. I think the boxers who did not hit hard would lose, and that includes Pep and Leonard. I'd give Mayweather the edge, but you never know.

I think Saddler vs Lomo would be a special fight, but I pick Lomo in a brutal war based on being a bit quicker.

Lomo is a one in a generation type of talent, with a style that forces his opponent to fight for a full three minutes, and challenges his opponent mental toughness, as he's going to be hit from all angles, and his blindside.

Arguello did not match up style wise.
