Donaire was 140 on fight night against Rigo, Loma was 138. Donaire's known for being granite-jawed and Rigo hurt him plenty. Donaire was bigger against Rigo than Loma was.
Dude, stop ignoring ****. Did Loma have to drain down?? You ignoring what draining down does to ones body? What's the difference between a Pacman that has drained down to 126 and rehydrated to 144 vs a Pac who didn't didn't have to drain and just stayed at 144?
I think Loma wins this fight convincingly, despite the size advantage for Linares. Linares is a good, hard-punching action fighter but unless he catches Loma I don't think this is going to be much of contest. The only chance Linares has is smothering Loma.
I had such high hopes for the Rigo fight....until i saw the size difference. That was a bit of a wet towel being thrown on. I have equally high hopes for the Linares fight....and seeing the size difference has thrown gasoline on the fire. It's the handicap that Linares needs. Feel a close and competitive fight coming up. The haters will storm the board if Linares wins 4 or 5 rds. I'll be SHELLSHOCKED if Loma takes Linares apart like he has everyone else. Forget P4P #1....just give him fighter of the decade on the spot.
They always say when a good big 'un meets a good little 'un... I suppose this is more '"when a good big 'un meets a great little 'un". Will be intriguing, with potential FOTY written all over it.
people need to stop the " he didnt use his size" argument. you dont need to "use" your size for it to be a factor. there are unlimited number of things that are affected by size in a fight, whether a fighter is deliberately trying to use his size or not.
disagree. Size helps the bigger man absorb a punch better....and give a heavier punch. Problem is, Rigo couldnt land a single clean shot over the course of six rds. He gets undressed by Loma at 126 or 122 just as easily. The most important physical advantage that night was reach.....and Rigo had a couple inches of length on him.
You guys do know Linares has lost 3 times, right? All three by KO? And the guys who stopped him aren't exactly world beaters.
yes, youre not the only one who feels that way, and if i had a way to easily explain every single thing that is affected by size and weight and i could put you through a few fights so you could experience it, i would. but since i cant, all we are left with is your track record of being correct vs my track record of being correct.
I have Lomachenko by UD. Linares has basically pulled a Felix Sturm since he lost to DeMarco and that other guy. He's been fighting Euro, and Domestic level opposition, and had some trouble along the way.
