There won’t be a fifth fight. Frank Espinoza Sr., who has managed Vazquez throughout his career and helped take him to heights no one could have expected, said in the ring immediately afterward that Vazquez had fought for the last time. “That’s it,” Espinoza said. “His career is over. He’s not going to fight again.” For more details and photos click here…

I had a feeling that cut would mean the end of his career.

Even if he has something left in his tank he's had a detached retina and with all that scar tissue he won't ever be ready for a 12 rounder ever again, no matter what shape he comes in at.

Such a shame, the guy has great heart and skills.

Its quite shocking the way his skin seems to tear open.

Magnifico, you have entertained us undeserving boxing fans at your own expense, you and Rafa had one of the greatest boxing rivalries of all time, and you have fought your heart off everytime. My hat goes off to you, you will always have a fan in me and you will be missed dearly. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Is there any way that he could get that scar tissue fixed up so it doesnt tear bad.
Anyone know much about plastic surgery?

I saw a pretty damn quick Vasquez in there and have a feeling he could have won that fight had he not gotten cut so damn bad.

a true champion among champions, a real fighters fighter, he'll be missed

The scar may be a blessing in disguise. Vasquez has fought in many wars and taken a lot of headshots. He's not a young kid anymore. Each time he gets in the ring he's risking his health and his future. He should enjoy a rich retirement after a hall of fame career.

  10. Yeah I kinda thought the same thing. He's only 32, and physically he didn't look slow or shot. He actually tagged Marquez a couple times. It really could have been another war of Izzy could have just not torn open...

What's confusing about it? The guy was ****ed after the first two fights, I'm glad the third fight happened but in retrospect it probably never should have. And he definately shouldn't have come back for a 4th.

The third was possibly his best ever fight. No way should he have retired before it.
