Agreed - his family must be almost happy about that cut. Guys like this are always just a few wars from pugilistic dementia. Great fighter - great career...

Damn, I think Vazquez has quite a bit in the tank still but if his eyes don't co-operate that's all you can do. He certainly wasn't shot and was starting to look more comfortable and seemingly ad******g. Poor guy, his skin just tears open like no other.

I officially love this man. The Marquez-Vazquez fights were simply ****ing amazing. No other trilogy/quadrilogy loves up to it.

Agreed! The way he came out in the last round, so determined and sure of himself it was almost unreal. That very round won him the fight I also think his corner had alot to do with it he has a great corner everytime they shouted at him they pumped me up man. Izzy has nothing to prove and is a legend to a boxing fans, that alone is a great reason to retire.

"In retrospect it shouldn't have happened"? I think it depends on how you view the fight and it's affect. For the third fight, both men were announced as future HOFers but without the third fight, they probably don't make it. That fight turned them from great fighters with good careers, to great fighters with matching careers. It was the defining fight, made them both huge money, sealed their legacy and made their rivalry epic.

Sure, both men got hurt but I doubt either regrets it, considering how much it has changed their lives. Marquez still looks good but there are doubts over Vazquez.

Well deserved retirement. He gave us he fans all he could and has set himself up to provide well for his family. What more could a man want? I hope he hangs them up for good. He should never have to buy his own beer again for the rest of his life.
