A lot of Wlad/HW talk going on right now and with the Rahman/Toney fight coming up, I thought I'd post somethin' a different.. We all know that Vazquez vs Marquez was an amazing trilogy, perhaps the best and we would even love to see them fight a 4th time, but how do you see them up against the other top fighters in the 122lb division as well as the 118lb & 126lb division? Here are a list of some key fights and who do you favor in each of them? Israel Vazquez vs Steve Molitor Israel Vazquez vs Celestino Caballero Israel Vazquez vs Juan Manuel Lopez Israel Vazquez vs Daniel Ponce De Leon Israel Vazquez vs Jorge Linares Israel Vazquez vs Gerry Penasola Rafael Marquez vs Steve Molitor Rafael Marquez vs Celestino Caballero Rafael Marquez vs Juan Manuel Lopez Rafael Marquez vs Daniel Ponce De Leon Rafael Marquez vs Jorge Linares Rafael Marquez vs Gerry Penasola
I don't know man, their tremendous trilogy most likely shaved off quite a few years of their career. We will need to see how they look in their next fights not against each other to make a better assessment.
I agree.. It's been a while since we've seen them fight anyone else and no doubt the wars they had could have shaved off some years, but I had a hard time figuring who'd I favor them against in their division so I thought I'd ask some of ya'll.. I would like to see them fight other people besides a 3rd rematch, but I sure wouldn't argue if they fought again..
Super-Bantam is a tight division... You have two guys that most consider some where near the Top 10 P4P, but as you guys have mentioned, they have been in 3 straight wars and are planning a 4th... Molitor, Caballero and Lopez are the only guys in the SBW Division that I think can possibly (but not for certain), dethrone the eventual Vasquez Vs. Marquez 4 winner... Molitor has an optional defense coming up then a Showdwon with Caballero... This division should tighten up even more after those 2 fights, and I think we may even see a Unified SBW Champion in the not too distant future... But things can always change, so you never know...
