Sure they had beautiful trilogy, one of the best in the history,
maybe just a bit lower than Barrera/Morales. But seriously they
never fought anybody else since 2006 and they are inactive since
march 2008 (over one year) .... so why people 'r giving them so
much credit and put them in top 10 p4p .... especially Marquez?

Shouldn't the p4p list give props to ACTIVE fighters who prove
themselves against variety opposition at different weight categories
(except maybe the HW who should be "only" dominant/impresive at HW) ???

I tend to agree. It's getting near time to remove both of them. It's likely that both will never be the same, and even if by some chance they are, they have been inactive for over a year and Vazquez doesn't appear to have anything on the horizon.

They are active. Because they haven't retired.

Marquez is fighting again soon, Vazquez is bound to be in talks.

And they are top 10 P4P because they are 2 quality fighters, if they are still at the level they were before their wars, they beat anybody at 122, and it's a helluva strong division.

    Good resumes aswell.

Good resume indeed ... for being HOF in a few years ... but seriously,
how do you even know they are still "good"? Both did not beat any other
opponent beside themselves since 2006 ... more than 3 years !!!

Maybe they are simply equally average so they had tough fights/wars
but in a REAL WORLD Vic Darchynian would knock them out in the first round ...
how do you know that isn't the true since they ARE INACTIVE.

For example after Mijares beat Arce people tend to put Mijares in their top 10.
Lets assume Mijares never fought anybody else or had war trilogy with Arce ...
I guess we would have both Arce and Mijares in top 10 right now?
... but in the real world we already know that bot Arce and Mijares got beating
from Vic Darchynian and they DOES NOT deserve to be put in top 10 p4p.

So shouldn't IZZY and RAFA be a bit more active to prove they deserve
    their status?

    It's obvious both aren't average.

But if that's the case, we will see in their upcoming fights. If they look average and lose, then they drop down.

    For now, they stay.

Frankly, you are trying to make a ridiculous arguement. It's like saying what if Mayweather comes back, where does he rank P4P given after the whole of 2008 out, he may become an average fighter, when he clearly won't.

Mijares went to the top 10 on the basis of dominating guys like Arce, Navarro - top contenders - and then unifying easily against Munoz.

There is nothing wrong with over-rating fighters and then finding out they don't belong and dropping them down. It's far worse to under-rate a fighter and then him have to prove himself all over again to find his way up your list. Guys like Vazquez & Marquez shouldn't and don't have to do that.

I have no idea especially Rafa Marquez. The guy has lost two fights in a row and hasn't fought in a year he should be dropped immediately.

So You are just saying that because Mijares beat top contenders and
unified titles, he just proved he is top fighter and he should not prove
himself anymore especially against the KO losers like Vic Darchynian
... it would be OK then he just sit down for a few years and enjoy his
p4p status ... same like Vazquez and Marquez are doing right now?

I agree somehow, Lewis is still P4P #1 ... he would still knock out
Floyd with one finger if they start argue in the bar.

Agree with OP. My P4p list is of active fighters. If you say you are retired or you go a calendar year without a fight then you aren't on it.

They get an extra allowance for what they did. They can take another year before signing a fight for all I care, they're still both among the top ten best pound-for-pound figthers (in the purest sense of the phrase) until proven otherwise, within reason.

That's completely ****ing arbitrary. This is why the idea of everybody and their brother having and comparing worthless lists is stupid.

Of course it's completely arbitrary. At some point you have to have an arbitrary line. There's mine.

Why bother to comment on a subject you think is 'stupid' though?
