I just watched this fight, which is a pretty good one by the way.

And I was a little confused by what happened in round 5.
Galaxy goes down, but to me the referee doesn't clearly indicate a slip nor does he begin a count...
Unfortunately the ref blocks the view right before Galaxy goes down, but I think Vazquez might have landed a left hook there... not sure though.

It's round about 3:20 in this video: (hopefully the embedding works, never done this before...)

Looking at the scorecards of that fight (115-113, 115-112 & 113-114) it might be possible that the judges weren't too sure what to make of it either. Assuming that none of them scored any rounds even (which I'm not sure they were supposed to in championship fights), 2 of them would have scored that round 10-8 while the 115-113 scorecard would be a result of having scored that round 10-9...

Or am I just blind and missing something here?

I've just watched this fight recently myself and was also confused. It looked like a legit knockdown to me but it didn't seem like the referee saw it that way. I don't think it had a bearing on the result the way I saw it and was surprixed that one judge gave it to Vasquez. How did you score it by the way?

I was surprised, too, that Lou Moret gave it to Vazquez.
In the end I had it 115-113 for Galaxy (not counting a knockdown), but I thought I was being very generous to Vazquez. 1 or 2 rounds I gave to Vazquez could very easily have gone to Galaxy.
Galaxy did a brilliant job and especially his body work impressed me. He looked a lot better than he did in his next fight against Moon...
    What was your score then?

Thanks! Didn't see it. Some good insight in there.
