Last Saturday in Puerto Rico, super bantamweight contender Jonathan Oquendo (19-2, 12KOs) has put himself in line to challenge countryman, and WBO champion, Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. This content is protected (19-0-1, 16KOs). Oquendo knocked out Filipino Eden Sonsona in nine rounds on the Juan Manuel Lopez-Bernabe Concepcion undercard. The fight was a WBO eliminator for a future title shot.
jonathan oquendo is a far better fighter than vazquez.. he has a good amateur pedigree and knows how to box and fight.. he got Koed by juanma that's true but vazquez would run the same fate if he ever fights juanma.. vazquez became champion by having a great management team and a lot of luck cause he doesnt know how to fight but he has some power.. if they ever fight i pick oquendo but i dont see this fight happening.. vazquez team wont allow it :hat
VW2 is getting better with each fight, he might not have a flashy style or shocking power, but he's a very solid, strong and actually good adaptable fighter. He's also very strongly built, so I expect him to move up in a few fights, and if he does that, the JuanMa showdown is inevitable. He stops Oquendo late IMO.
Vasquez kid is stongly built seems to love a war.Aquendo can't handle the brutality Vasquez will deliver coz it sure at times looked like Eden Sonsona was getting to him and E.Sonsona is not a puncher. Vasquez jnr TKO 9.
Vazquez by early KO. Oquendo has improved since getting shellacked by Juanma, but not that much. Vazquez has been improving a lot lately.
