Who is the better fighter between the former stablemates ?

Its argued that they havn't yet fought the firmest of compition. Although Jorge Linares holds wins over Oscar Larios and Gamaliel Diaz. While Edwin Valero's performance against Antonio Pitalua last night proved he is the real deal in my eyes along with I assume many others.

Linares is more polished but Valero is too big for him.. Valero is used to punking bigger fighters like Antillon and the santa cruz brothers.. I doubt linares can do the same.

TO me linares seems to be the better of the two. Valero wings his shots way too much and is gonna get schooled severely when he meets a counterpuncher with good defense.

Linares is the more schooled fighter in my opinion he is more of a boxer puncher.

Edwin Valero mainly swings and loops his punches.

Morales and Barrera had nothing but good things to say about Valero...

He's not without boxing skills and counter punching ability, that's for sure..

When he meets a well schooled boxer in it sprime, he would definitely change up his style and show other dimensions of his game.

    I don't rate Linares.

I think Valero's better because he's the more dangerous, he's quicker and seems to have more of a killer instinct, and probably more power.

Linares is the more polished and skilled fighter being more of a boxer-puncher than an all-out slugger. but I think his lack of speed is going to be a hinderance if he tries to box guys more often.

Valero's speed, power and killer instinct ensures that he gets guys hurt and they stay hurt. At the level he's fighting at, anyway, it remains to be seen whether he can do it at the top level.

Same with Linares though, both unbeaten 2 weight world champions with potential, but neither have really stepped up to world-class level yet.

Robert Alcazar who trained delahoya earlier in his career was brought in to help remind and help him with his boxing skills.. Footwork, judging the distance, and the jab in particular.. Valero needed another trainer to take him to the next level and Alcazar was the man..

His jab certainly seems to have developed.

Being the better boxer doesn't necessarily make somebody the better fighter.. We'll just have to wait and see.. Im high on both fighters regardless but im just saying.....

If that were the case, then Marquez should be considered as the much better fighter than Pac but alot of fans feel otherwise..

Ye De La Hoya was at his best with Alchzar, he was a top class trainer.
