I know the dude got totally screwed tonight, but I hope he at least made some bank to take care of his family. Anyone know what his purse was, plus the penalty that Chavez paid to him?

I heard Chavez made 2.5 million. Is that true?

Don't know if Chavez paid any penalty too him. The fight was renegotiated early this week as far as I'm aware.

Hopefully Vera gets some good money because there is no way they will give him a rematch. I doubt any of the 160lb title holders will give him a chance.

Put it this way- it was less than the judges.

I believe it was a few hundred grand that Vera got. Should have gotten a win along with it though.

^That's not bad. I've heard you can purchase a huge house in Texas for that money.

275k after taxes and expenses would be maybe $125 and you're not
buying a house in austin for that. San antonio yes, but not austin.
Hopefully he got another 50k for the penalty.

He could buy a mansion in Brownsville.

I feel bad for Vera, worse knowing that Jr. got 2.5 mill. Think about it. Guys that really fight like Garcia, Matthysse, Rios etc don't get that cash. It is nearly criminal..
