Just read an article by puertorrican boxing analyst "Chu" Garcia in which he stated that international boxing fans should be familiarizing with him (Verdejo) and his "enormous talent" by watching his fights on YouTube because he literally has a "guaranteed belt" by the end of 2015.

With the facts that Verdejo has yet to fight a 10-round fight and he's 11 fights into his pro career, do you agree with this statement?

This is the article, in spanish http://www.elnuevodia.com/blog-nodejodeveraverdejo-1744660.html

Absolutely he will, he's a very polished boxer with great athleticism. There are far lesser boxers who have picked up belts. Verdejo looks as good as anyone I've seen at that stage of his pro career, more impressive than Cotto.

Don't you think that is really exagerated that a man who is yet to fight an 8-rounder can be expected to be a world champion in 20 months or so?

I just want to see him with better competition, but he is very skilled and has very good power, but just needs greater challenges for me but by late 2016 he sure will

Not at all, the skills are obviously there. Lomachenko had only fought 4 rounds and showed that pacing aside he was more than ready to win a title. Verdejo is being brought along at a slower pace but you can bet he's already preparing more than enough for 12 rounds. Give Verdejo 2 8-rounders and 2 10-rounders and he'll be good to go within 12 months imo.
With Verdejo's skills it will be surprising for him not to win a world title soon, it would take some GRJ-esque matchmaking for it not to happen.
