Exactly. Vargas had all the tools to do likewise, but they sent him up against Tito Trinidad too early and the rest is unfortunate history, despite his success.

Ortiz seems to be a student of the sport. Very disciplined and always learning.

He's only 23, that means he will improve with each fight and I believe he will be a big force in the next couple of years.

And then DLH all but finished whatever prime was left of Vargas' prime.

I still want to see Bud vs Ortiz.

I do too. Maybe I'm too hype on Ortiz but I think this fight was the last piece of the puzzle for him to be ready for the big dogs of this division.

...maaaaaybe an Ugas before then. Maybe.

I think he loses to Crawford, but it may serve him as life changing experience, but in the flipside, it may serve him as life changing beatdown.

Ortiz and Ennis both look a level above Crawford and Spence... Crazy how that **** happens. I don't think either champ will give either of them a shot cos they know it.

yes. he was hurt. not bambi legs hurt, but his body got a little stiff and reflexes slowed for a few seconds. but he responded well, immediately wanting to return the favor, then taking control of the fight again by boxing.
he underestimated kavs timing and power and got caught with a peach. he didnt make that mistake again. he wont make that mistake with crawford. i dont know this for a fact, but i bet crawford gets hit more often than ortiz does...thats how underated his defense is.
