    Round 1 Ortiz 10-9
    Round 2 Ortiz 10-9
    Round 3 Ortiz 10-9
    Round 4 Ortiz 10-9
    Round 5 Ortiz 10-9, close
    Round 6 Ortiz 10-9
Round 7 Ortiz wins by TKO

Vargas got absolutely pummelled from beginning to end, he was all over the ring, Vargas took Ortiz down by spearing him to get him off, then Ortiz went right back to business, landing in combination to his head. Finally with seconds left, Reiss leaped in and called it.

Congrats to Jack Reiss for taking about 5 years off Sam Vargas’ life in one evening. Cap tip.

Stopped him in the same round as Garcia. While yes, Spence stopped him earlier, IIRC, Spence focused on the body and didn't let up and that ref stepped in too soon. But that's not the type of fighter Ortiz is, so nothing should be read into it.

Jack Reiss isn't the worst referee I've seen in combat sports - probably not even top ten - but hot damn is he up there.

Could they have found three worse pictures of Pacquiao, Crawford and Spence? And I'm pretty sure that's their intent.

Virgil has above average handspeed. He's going to be a big problem at 147 if he isn't already.

He put on an excellent performance, and got the job done in an exceptional manner.

At 22 he can only get better. The way he steps around to create angles will only get better and he'll probably get more creative.

A few observations based in tonight's fight. As several already said, he needs to vary his attack more. More body punches would help him tremendously so keep his opponents guessing and creating more openings.

Also his hands were hurt according to him, which I understand that it happens in boxing, but he's only 22, he'll clearly be moving up in weight, possibly end up at MW in his early 30s, and he's a boxer puncher with an emphasis on puncher, so he needs his hands. Maybe I'm reading too much into it and its nothing to worry about, that's why I said they were just observations.

All in all good fight and decent card.
