Actually one of my favourite young fighters to watch but I don't want to see him keep going if he continually gets so sick from a visit from Uncle Rabdo.
he needs to find a weight that he can fight in, be comfortable in it, and do quatlity work in, without needing to be rushed to the hospital due to training.
This content is protected Poor opponent but the DAZN schedule is looking on fire. In December you get the stacked card in Belfast featuring Caoimhin Agyarko vs Troy Williamson, Ryan Garcia, Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney, and Jesse Rodriguez vs Sunny Edwards, followed by in January the return of Vergil Ortiz Jr, Jamie Munguia vs John Ryder, and potentially Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn. If they can add fights like Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall II, Jai Opetaia vs Maris Briedis II, Leigh Wood vs Josh Warrington II at the City Ground, Joe Cordina vs O'Shaquie Foster at Cardiff Castle, and Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia in the first half of 2024, other promoters and networks will be scratching their heads to match that schedule to be honest. Wow.
My position is Vergil is gonna be a MW sooner rather than later. Too bad he had to abort mission at WW but hopefully he actually makes it back in the ring
This is good news Ortiz is missed big time, i hope all the time off & medical issues doesn't hinder him going forward. He missed out multiple chances at pay & resume building fights bummer for him.
I'm really rooting for him to finally get over the hump relative to his health. It is guys like this that we need to be healthy and entertaining to gather up new fans.
I agree, he’s my favorite active fighter but you don’t just go from almost dying the past 3 camps to thinking everything’s gonna be fine because you move up one division. He’ll definitely fight at 160 in the next 2 years.
