Vergil Ortiz vs David Avanesyan is set for August 6th

Good fight, should be full of fireworks. Both hittable, both aggressive, both power punchers. Neither seem to have a lack of heart, and both can bang all night. I think this could shape up to be a really fun fight, similar to Pavlik-Miranda or something. Even if it's a little bit of a step down from Mean Machine; Avanesyan is still better than anyone else Ortiz has fought and I'd say better than Lipinets - making him better than anyone Boots or Benn have fought, as well. Ortiz is the clear favourite, though.

Avanesyan is getting way overrated on the Internet

 

I like this fight as a developmental fight for Ortiz and a prove-it fight for Avanesyan.

I don't think it will be boring by any means but I'd be pretty surprised if it was a FOTY contender. Avanesyan is so physically overmatched by Ortiz I don't think he'll be able to provide the back and forth necessary for a really great fight

Ava is very experienced and has good control of the distance, but he gets hit a lot earlier in the fight.

Ortiz is natural middle weight who is only at welter because of his age.

I want someone to end Ortiz hype. Maybe it would be Ava, who knows.

Can Ortiz make WW? Isn't that what his issues stemmed from? If he can still make it, great. Wonder how his physicality is gonna be affected..........

 

Great comeback fight for Vergil considering is coming from a rare serious illness, after Ava lost against Kava he has been is a winning streak all by the way of KO against good and decent opposition.

Respect to Ortiz considering something similar happened in the Hooker bout in Camp, he got covid for a month and had a right shoulder injury. He didn't cancel that fight despite those circumstances.

 

Avanesyan has balls, but he'll be stopped here.

 

Can't wait for this...I like avanesyan..but he's gonna get his arse handed to him here
