    How about an Appreciation thread for Verno Phillips here?

    We almost never hear about him. He's a 2x Champion, never ducked anyone, always put on an exciting fight whether it be Win or Lose. Look at the campaign in Argentina early in his career. Also knew when to retire.

    good thread, he's definitely underrated and had a great career, I didn't know he had KOed Julian Jackson, very impressive

    Hell yeah man that Julian Jackson KO was sooooo nice. I love Verno's 2 fights with Kassim Ouma.

    can you recommend other Verno Phillips fights?
    pros like Verno, Vince Phillips, Dermarcus Corley, Emanuel Augustus, Charles Brewer, Antwun Echols are the heart and soul of boxing to me, I don't care if they win or lose they'll fight anyone

    Loved watching his fights, gave Ouma a real battle when Ouma was an emerging star

    I always thought he got screwed vs Ike Quartey when they didnt count the knockdown and he lost by a point

    My favorite Verno Phillips fight is the one with Jamie Llanes. I loved it! The one vs. Teddy Reid is another good one!
