I think this would be an interesting fight, since both fighters are used to being the bigger man, they wouldn't have that adavantage in this fight. What does everyone think the result would be? The fight is at either 147 or 154.
Williams would still have supreme physical advantages and Forrest is getting old despite looking decent against Baldomir. Williams would likely stop Forrest late or win a wide decision. Actually this is NOT one of the fights I want to see Williams in, since welter is so strong right now. Doesn't make much sense.
I agree there are better and bigger fights out there for Williams, but i just thought it would be an interesting match up style wise. I think if Forrest is completely over his injury problems, which he seems to be, then this matchup could be close. It really depends on what version of Vernon turns up.
Williams win this fight easy. He's way faster and probably stronger than Baldomir. He's also a better boxer and with the amount of punches he throws - he would probably overwhelm Forrest. Forrest would blame the lost on his shoulder.
margarito lost to williams bc he could not outwork williams......he is not sound enuff technically to deal with with a high work rate vernon on the contrary does not need to threw over 1,000 punches to win bc he is a great boxer that know how to win efficiently, plus his power is overrated......i would not automatically assume that margarito hits harder than forrest.......... i think its forrest fight to lose and williams is the underdog bc he is still relatively untested against an opponenet of this caliber however, i think the young gun can definitely make the fight intersteing and if he can take forrrest best shot as he was able to take margaritos def fight will be a close one
I favor Williams, whose workrate and diverse punching angles would make Forrest uncomfortable. I also agree with those who say there are better options for Williams.
