There's one guy out there who I think can win over Floyd Mayweather Jr., and it is Vernon Forrest. Just look at the way Vernon fights. He's skillful, moves well, and counters well. He's also got power. He ko'ed Shane Mosley, and that's no small thing. He's also taller than Floyd, I think, and may even have longer arms. He even had a more impressive win over Carlos Baldomir. He's definitely better than he was before when he fought against Ricardo Mayorga. I just feel that Vernon's style will off-set Floyd. Floyd will have to fight Vernon's game, and not the other way around. What do you all think?

I think so to, but I will never count Floyd out against anyone.

wow I really like this matchup..Vernon has great fundamentals..his heart is his downfall Mayorga intimidated the **** out of him..I like this matchup Its official Vernon is a Darkhorse

Vernon is accurate as well..at this point though he maybe too slow for Floyd

He didn't KO Mosley, he dropped him once, and couldn't finish him. If that head but didn't happen, that fight would have turned out different :yep He didn't get the knock down until Mosley was hurt by that head butt.

Mosley has never been Ko'ed, but I do agree, Forrest Mayweather would be an intereresting mactchup, I would still take Floyd by a comfortable UD.

The 2008 potshotting, low punch output Floyd style wouldn't be enough to beat an old Forrest. DLH gave Floyd a lot of problems last year with just his jab and size. Forrest is a better fighter than DLH at 154 and would win a very comfortable decision. This fight would never get made though. Both Floyd and Oscar wouldn't fight him. I still think Vernon could clean out the 154 division, become undisputed, and retire with a nice legacy.

If Floyd was smart he'd stay away from the majority of the top 154 lbers.

No, but that wasn't Forrest at 100%. The 154 division isn't strong right now and I would favor Forrest over everyone in it.. everyone except Sergio Mora that is. The Latin Snake will be a tough, tough battle.

BTW, what happened to Quartey? Did he just move up to get a payday against Winky and then retire?

And top 147 lbers.. Cotto to be more specific. Floyd will lose as soon as he takes a real challenge, he's going to be way past it after the Oscar fight this year and he'll have no chance against Cotto.

No, not even close. Forrest isn't a sloppy pressure fighter who has no idea how to use his size and puts nothing behind his punches.

Forrest would most likely TKO Williams in the second half of the fight, maybe earlier.

You seem to think floyd is not for real then.....apparently Oscar isn't a good 154 fighter he is subpar so him putting on a good fight and wow his jab worked on a shorter fighter height and reacch wise that means Forrest has his way with Floyd? I do agree fighting at 154 is a bit much for him and staying to fight those guys would wear on anyone and would be hard pressed every fight to win because well shyt how many pounds above his normal weight class?

Then you say at 147 he loses to any REAL challenge...whatever that is. Cotto would be a good fight at 147 but if you break the fight down you would see that Cotto is the one who has the bigger challenge because he in no way is as skilled as floyd.

So if Floyd loses to REAL challenges at 147 and 154...where does he possibly when at.....matter fact i guess he just aint good because from your post your not giving the man ANY credit and he is just waiting to be knocked off.....is this what your saying?
