@ 147 How do you see this fight go had they fought? I think this fight could have happened around the late 90s but it never came to be.

I’d pick Forrest. He’d know to be active enough and take more rounds.

I'd like to bump this having just watched Lopez vs Quartey recently which I scored for Lopez by 1 point.

I think Forrest gives Lopez alot of trouble with his jab like Quartey did, Lopez was often quite lazy in the ring and didn't throw enough punches.

The question is when Lopez does warm up into the fight and starts landing on Forrest how well would Forrest take his punches ? Lopez hit pretty hard and Forrest was stopped by Mayorga another durable Welterweight who hasn't got the skills of Lopez.

Overall though I favour Forrest by decision after some rough moments.

Lopez a very live underdog. I would put money on him because I think the odds would be very much in Vernon's favor. Lopez tantalized us with that run starting with Loughran, through to Quartey, then left the boxing world disappointed as he seemed to lose interest. He certainly had the goods. I believe that the Ike fight took something out of both fighters. JLL especially ate a lot of Bazooka's power jabs. A return to waves and weed was understandable.

I watched the Lopez/Quartey fight today as i said above and the punchstats had Quartey landing almost 400 punches on Lopez, that's a hell alot of punches to been taking from a big hitter like Quartey.

    Yikes!

Too tough for his own good. He seemed to be a thrill seeker who stumbled upon boxing.

Agreed. I've always had a hard time rating Lopez. The boxing world needed more from him.
