I don't disagree with this. Forrest had little trouble with a prime Mosely. While Pac had better feet than Mosely, in that he darts in and out better, he is only 5'6. Forrest was a greatt boxer, had good feet, a good right hand, uppercut, jab, good power, and he was at least 6 feet tall. He would eat Pac. It's a real bad style match up for Pacquiao.

For those of you picking Pacman in this one, I'd really like to hear your reasoning.

I think Manny is the better fighter overall but Forrest was talented and massive for the weight. He could cause Manny problems and he had the power to take him out. Tough fight imo.

    Hold on one second..

are we talking about the same Vernon Forrest whos only credible wins were against Shane Mosley and also got beaten twice badly by Ricardo "pass me the fegs" Mayorga?

what makes anyone think apart from size diff than he could have a chance against the fighter of the decade?

i remember watching the Mayorga fights, was there not a comical part in one of them?

Mayorga was unorthodox as hell/awkward/wild . Very heavy handed On top of that , could put you down with either hand.

Vernon just didn't know how to deal with Mayorga .

I think any top WW today would have a lot of trouble with that version of Mayorga .

Ok i can understand that he is unorthadox yes but any fighter who is good enough to beat a fighter like Manny should have the skill to adapt and adjust to beat someone as crude and wild as Mayorga, even if they have trouble early but over 15 rounds Forrest got ko'ed and beaten on points by him...

this does not sound like a guy who could beat the fighter of the decade.... and im not even a Pacquiao fan

Without his 2 wins over Mosley no one would even know who Forrest is.....

Mayorga was huge, strong as an ox, heavy handed, dirty, and fought standing on your feet. He had an iron jaw back in those days, and walked through most fighters. He gave Mosley hell, and dropped Tito.
Forrest worked best on the outside, and he was a great ring general. He struggled with a man who he couldn't hurt and who was rushing him like a bull.
Manny's in and out style means he'd get picked off by Forrest's brilliant, educated jab and straight rights coming in like Mosley did. He'd probably be wary and gun shy.
Marquez knocked Manny out. I wouldn't give Marquez a hope in hell against the version of Mayorga that beat Forrest.

Agreed with you about Forrest . Despite him being a great fighter Mosley truly is the only top fighter he's ever beaten .

I remember a lot of People having Forrest edging Mayorga in the 2nd fight

though I can't say that myself because I never saw the rematch

Honestly I see even Manny himself facing adversity against that Version of Mayorga .

Mayorga face will be a complete mess in that fight though LOL

It would be a war .
