I wouldnt really use that example as a comparison.

Santos lucked out a little in that fight IMO.

Forrest. He has too much skill for Margarito.

margarito is not the wrecking ball at 154 that he is at 147, santos fight clearly showed this when santos (round 9 i think) and margarito stood toe to toe for about 1minute straight exchanging punches and margo ended up running for the ropes and holding, margo is not the same fighter at 154 as he is 147. santos has been hurt but other not so big punching fighters at 154 to support my statement

Margarito by decision or maybe late stoppage.

I'm not questioning the fact that Margo is not the same fighter at 154 that he is at 147.

I am questioning whether Forrest can keep Margo off of him for a full twelve at this advanced stage in his career.

Forrest is not Cotto. People are taking Margarito's win over the midget Cotto way to far. Forrest would beat Margarito.

I think this fight, like just about every other fight that could be made between the top-dogs at 147, is about 50/50.

Forrest is 37, and he's NOT the same fighter he once was.

Hell, when Forrest was in his prime, he had trouble keeping Mayorga off of him.

I'll take Margo in this one, but I'd be rooting for Forrest.

I'm going to add to this that Forrest was a stupid mother****er even in his prime. If someone wanted to bang he was willing to bang back even when it was his superior jab that won fights. I remember watching the Vince Phillips fight and thinking, "why are you taking risks against this guy? You're fighting the way he wants you to fight". Some guys could just throw Vernon off of his game. He had bigger balls than brains.

    Good point.

The exception would be when he fought Mosley, two bouts he was extremely focused in.
