Vernon Forrest (Mosley I) vs Maywaether (Best version at welter : Hatton)

Who would you favour in this fantasy matchup?

Forrest by UD. His reach, jab and power would be too much for Floyd in my opinion.

Close fight I see FLoyd winning close but clear, i just loved Forrest style.

Mosley gets dominated by Forrest, Forrest gets dominated by Mayorga, Mayorga gets dominated by Mosley. Boxing can be funny at times.

Just remember Mosley was a high-speed slugger, very different to a Mayweather who is a defensive counter-puncher. And the best version of Mayweather was probably at 130lb.

Lets not forget that Floyd s reach is freakishly long. In the past 5 years (at least) there has not been a single opponent whose reach was equal to the of Floyds.
Then there is Floyd s jab. A key weapon in his arsenal(as it should the case be for every boxer).

And Mayorga beat him twice. Different animals but still, to loose to Mayorga twice should make people question your limits.

50/50 fight mayweather.... I loved forrest's aggressiveness, speed, workrate, and power. Physically would've been a tough fight for floyd. I slightly favor forrest in this one

Forrest's jab was better than Floyd's though so I do not see your point

    Forrest beats Floyd .

He has the height (6ft0 tall) , Jab , reach and good hand speed of his own . Not to mention he was also a hard puncher .

He had enough tools to overcome Floyd .

Roger even admitted himself that Forrest would been floyds toughest test .

Roger Mayweather - “Shane Mosley wouldn’t have been the toughest for Floyd, anyway. The toughest test for Floyd is already dead. You know who that was, don’t you? That’s the one who whopped Shane Mosley’s ass twice. You know who that was, that was Vernon Forrest. So if you start talking about tests, I know because I trained Vernon Forrest to go to the Olympics, so that would have been Floyd’s most difficult test as far as in the welterweight division. That would have been the most difficult test because the guy is tall and he’s rangy and he’s much in the same field as a Leonard and a Tommy Hearns. Those are the type of fighters he is. Shane Mosley is a good fighter, but he wasn’t the best welterweight.”

    I see Roger's point.However, Floyd-Forrrest would still be more competitive than Floyd-Hearns or Floyd-Leonard.

Against Hearns, I do not see Floyd winning more than 2 rounds. hell, Floyd might even get knocked out.

Against Forrest, I see Floyd winning around between 3 to 5 rounds.

Forrest would be a bit taller, but would only have a small reach advantage (1 inch), certainly not enough to outjab Floyd. Floyd has a significant reach advantage over Mayorga, and Mayorga beat Forrest twice.

    Mayweather by convincing UD.

What's the point in asking the question if there's only one possible answer?

    :patsch

You pointed out his reach would be too much. I showed you how that's false. Mayweather by 116-112 would be my guess, if you don't like that opinion, don't ask the question.

Mayorga was a relentless , wild and explosive fighter who can punch and was unpredictable . Also had a cast iron jaw BTW .

    Too way different styles .

Everyone just keeps repeating the same thing over and over "Mayorga beat Forrest 2x so Floyd can do it as well "

    NO .

Is Floyd going to pursue Vernon like Mayorga did ? Is Vernon going to respect Floyds power like he did with Mayorgas ? Floyd wont dare slug it out with Forrest like Mayorga fearlessly did .

    Mayorga was an animal .
