Ask this in a year or two and my answer might very well change...

At welterweight, I'd pick Cotto, but who knows.

I think it's a very intriguing match-up and one where it is very difficult for objective observers to predict a winner.

I was seriously unimpressed with Forrest's apparent fear of Mayorga, in fact he was so scared that he would throw himself to the canvass to avoid being hit. That is against the rules, too bad the referee didn't know it. We can only imagine what fear would do to him once he got in the ring against a puncher like Cotto who actually knows how to box.

Strange how posters still doubt Cotto at this point....he's an extremely patient and intellegent fighter. I've always been a huge Forrest fan I think we share the same birthday.......as skilled and talented Vernon is and has been I doubt he destroys Cotto. When will people understand that Cotto is legit and will give anyone within his weight division a good scrap. Real recognize real and only those who have been in the ring with Cotto understand what he's made of. Cotto should be happy he still has many doubters....who the hell is going to add fuel to his fire, without haters you become comfortable and a comfortable fighter lacks the passion to strive for greatness. Much love to those hated fighters Cotto, Floyd, Hatton etc.

Not sure who you are referring to, but I, for one, am not doubting Cotto in the least.

Your absolutley correct, I wasnt referring to you might Rums only those who cleanly state Forrest man handles Cotto. You must have been proud of Mosley he fought well and showed a heart of a champion like I knew he would. There are few fighters on the scene today who lack internal demons. Cotto and Mosley seem to put aside distractions in the ring while other fighters bring the luggage along. While many people feel Cotto has arrived I feel Cotto is at a crossroads...if he makes the right move he becomes a legend if he makes the wrong move he becomes another respected former champ.
