His last fight against Tim Coleman was pretty damn good and he showed some skills. He is in a very tough division (140) How do you see him doing in this division?? I was very impressed as i thought Tim Coleman was top notch. Why isnt there any hype behind this kid??
Yea i think i remember the commentators saying something about having been shot before. So that was true??
"Vernon Paris fights with a bullet still lodged in his back, and one in his thigh, after having been shot three times in the summer of 2006 in a murder attempt." -boxingRec He's from Michigan too.
Paris v Coleman... I never expected that fight to be as good as it was. Both of those guys impressed.
Ok so just to get this thread rolling. Vernon beats both Pac and PBF. It seems thats the only type of threads that can actually get going with all the fanboys here....
Was stabbed in Miami also. Everyone I talk to locally say he's a good kid. Probably just needs to get rid of the bad people around him.
Vernon Paris only problem was his conditioning with that problem resolved I think he beats the bottom 5 in the top 10 of the 140 division he had one tendacy to move straight back which was probably fixed during the coleman fight. People on here need to concentrait on a boxers ability instead of his personal life it's a boxing forum not a person life forum.
it depends on what Vernon does. If he becomes a World Champion, I expect his story to be made into a movie. Hopefully it will also include him becoming a more respected person outside the ring. He's got a bright future if he keeps his nose clean.
He's one of those fighters that has to have a big fight to be motivated to bring his A game. He fights to the level of competition.
He's a ******ed thug. He has the talent but work ethic and ability to not do something stupid is another story. I see him getting a big title shot an robbing a bank and killing a teller before it comes off
Most of my homies I knew growing up were good dudes. Didn't stop them fro Doin something stupid n getting sent to the bink. Some dudes can't leave the hood behind and are always in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Mikey Garcia would get tore up by Paris to fast to much talent Holt would be a good fight because of his pop and experience but u can forget that fight for now.
I saw Vernon's most recent fight last Thursday at the Motor City Casino here in Detroit. He took a UD8 against a 39 year old guy who was on a ten fight winless streak coming in. Paris shoud have stopped the guy, but as someone mentioned above, he often fights to the level of his comp. The Coleman fight was the best I ever saw him look. I've seen Paris fight several times in person and a few times on TV. He's a good boxer, but he has never appeared to be "special". He's only 23, though, so it's hard to tell what his ceiling is.
