Agreed. Is he running with the wrong crowd? I still remember reading about him getting shot like it was yesterday.

It's a jungle of some of the worst Urban Decay you will ever see, square miles of industrial ghost town even, crazy stuff.

A house in one of the Decay zone's costs like 2 grand, sometimes idiot college kids buy them and think they are safe in numbers, which they aren't. It was a news story a while back that some college kids viewed someone get shot right in front of the shitty house they bought and moved out the next morning.

Sad that most of the Decay area's, which again is something like 80% of the city, something that is not advertised and something that most people outside of Michigan aren't even familiar with, used to be really nice area's.

Did you ever drive through the Birmingham/Bloomfield area outside of Detroit?

Yeah, the suburbs outlining the city are very high class. Saw Hamtramck also, which is populated something like 80% by Middle Eastern immigrants, they even had some sound monitors outside that was ethnic music all over the place and prayer messages....

Have you been inside the city? And I'm not meaning some of the normal project/poverty area's, but deep in the city where there is nothing but literal Ghost Towns, and people think I'm kidding, I'm not, there was 1 point in the 4 hour trip that several square miles of a built up(but decayed) suburb/industrial area that didn't have a live body or a sign of life in sight and sound.

Personally never seen anything like it. It's really sad, but it's also enlightening in a way and extremely interesting, there is not an area like it in the United States or Western Europe due to it's size.

Yes, in fact if you went to see the Kronk, chances are you saw those 'Ghost Towns'. Police won't even respond to calls down there for up to twenty/thirty minutes. There's so many uninhabited buildings, and we're not talking about 2 or 3 story ones, but massive ones like the train station for example. I definitley know what you mean.

Detroit's really declined economically. All of Michigan has for that matter. People are moving out at a high rate, the city's population has long been under 1 million, and it's really sad to see so many people without a way to make a living. Especially when you see those single mothers having to work 3 or more jobs just to provide for their kids.

And I know a lot of people that are under the impression that Detroit is back in full swing again because of the new projects going up, Ford Field, Comerica Park, The Super Bowl, and the Casino's. That's just flat out ridiculous. Detroit is struggling greatly. Mayor Kilpatrick certainly coveting himself in glory either. His new 100 million dollar economic stimulus plan is so flawed I don't even know where to begin.

The Birmingham, Bloomfield, Troy, Farmington area is very nice. I'm not sure if you remember any landmarks in Birmingham, because I could give you a rough idea where I live.

I saw Kronk, but we went even deeper down in there and saw Ghost Towns and inhabited area's, the inhabited area's deep in there had people shooting up heroin out on the porch and if you saw Police won't respond for 30 minutes, the deeper you go, there isn't even any power out there, there is no law period.

    It's unreal.

Are there even any jobs outside of Metro Detroit and close to the 'normal' area's? I didn't see **** down in the whole of the city.

TBH, Kilpatrick is way too young to be elected into a position when going back to his prior credentials. All of the things you mentioned there are probably being established in the nicer area's, as the whole has been abandoned and is decaying rapidly.

I don't remember anything that well, just breezed through. The stop in Detroit, where my friend lives in Metro Detroit was just 3 days and one of the stops before I hit up NYC and Montreal, but it was well worth it just for the experience of seeing all of that...

Like I said, in Western Europe, where I am from and am very familiar with, there is nothing like that. Decayed area's? Sure, just not miles and miles and miles and miles like Detroit.

The tourism sector tries to bring in people by advertising 'Metro Detroit', which to be fair, is a really nice place, a lot cleaner than any city in Florida and almost as clean as most Western European highlight cities that doesn't include some of the **** area's of France and Italy(ughhhh).

But this is not 'Detroit' mate, Detroit is a beast, it almost has a poetic feature to it's decay and some parts rival the ghost towns that used to be industral cities around the Chernobyl plant in Ukraine(been there, went on a tour through Pripyat, which was another great experience).

I go on weird vacations, tropical paradise doesn't interest me as much as learning morbid facts first hand.....

You're right about the suburban area of Birmingham. I visit there from time to time for dinner and/or a movie. Brooklyn, do you live anywhere near the Palladium?

Brooklyn, I'm sure you know this even if others might not, but there are very nice neighborhoods inside the City limits, too. Sherwood Forest, Indian Village, Palmer Woods, The Boston/Edison District, etc., are a upper middle class to upper class neighborhoods that come to mind. And there are solid middle class neighborhoods in the City as well, including my Castle Rouge neighborhood on the Detroit/Redford border.

None of that changes the fact that Detroit is a dysfunctional city, especially under it's current leadership. (Brooklyn is dead right about the "economic stimulus plan" of the crooked Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.) But it's not one great big wasteland as some might think.

Okay, enough with my hometown pride and social commentary. Back to the boxing talk.

I live about four miles away from the Palladium. You know where Lincoln Hills Golf Course is? I live in that neighborhood.

Been to the Castle Rouge neighborhood a few times. It's definitely a very nice area. Funny enough, I actually drove through Palmer Park yesterday to take a look at some of the homes. Really some beauties in there and they're kept up nicely. There's something about Palmer Park that I like more than the real upper class areas in Birmingham and Bloomfield. It's unique and has a sense of history about it. Didn't John Sally used to have a home in Palmer Park?

Yeah Sam, but that's calling a few area's, I literally saw miles and miles of 'wasteland', it was astonishing and I have no bias or experience to say otherwise as I'm not even American, nor familiar with the Northern States, shocked me if anything because all I had basically heard about Detroit was that it was a heavy crime area.... but that's not the real deal.

Tyner is naturally more powerful. Speed goes to Paris, but Tyner isnt slow. It would be a classic fight of the puncher who can box at times vs. the boxer who can punch at times. But power edge in in Tyner's favor and Paris cant afford to slug with Tyner.

Yea just turned. Been boxing for about 2 years. Im 2-1 with 2 first round KO's. Lost my first on a BS stoppage. Clearly ahead on all scorecards, outlanding the guy 10-1 and got clipped with a rabbit punch. Got up at a 6 count and verbally told the ref im ok, took a step forward with my hands up and he stopped it ne way. Im tryin to get it reversed to a No Contest if the tape shows the rabbit punch. Either way, im a on a 2 fight win streak with another fight sumtime in June. Im tryin to stay super active and claw my way to the top.
