I have always been a fan of Vernon Paris from the days when he fought guys like Juan Santiago, Nasser Athumani and Patrick Byrd. I noticed that he always had something there but he was plagued by outside personal problems. Tim Coleman, going into this fight was extremely disrespectful with his trash talking but this is boxing, Paris never really bit back and seemed to remain cool, calm and collected. Going into this fight I did not know if Paris would be in the right state of mind but being trained by Floyd Senior, I saw some of his training knowledge being displayed as Paris executed. I was loving the fact that Paris fought like an old school fighter by going to the body very often from the very first round. He was putting money in the bank early and it paid off when it was time for him as Coleman looked to be stopped in his tracks a few times with some of them. All in all I believe that with the right guidance Paris could be a player in this division. Tim Coleman on the other hand I was not too high on ever since he lost to James De La Rosa on a Shobox card and his lackluster display against Mike Arnaoutis. The right man won in my opinion. Did anybody else think that this was a good fight? Thoughts...
I undertsand that both Roger and Floyd Sr prepaired both fighters last night who prepped Paris ? Hell of an outing last night ..
Yeah great fight. Love the body work from Paris. If I was coleman, I would have tied up and ran like a lil ***** to possibly take it on the cards for those last 3 rounds. Paris gets hit too much though, and I can see Khan ripping him a new one from the outside. Maidana as well would destroy him. On the inside though I love his work.
