I was thinking the same thing , I guess it's just about getting more experience for him at this point, he's ready for a top 5 guy, the question is who even wants to fight him?
I'd like to see him vs Rashad or Bader. I do think this fight was to see if he really is as good of a wrestler as many people think, because Vladdy is the real deal in terms of wrestling. He showed that he absolutely is that good; still a horrible mismatch though.
For real. Whats more of a douche move Gomi fans; Tyson Griffin refusing to shake hands after getting his dreams shattered and his brain scrambled or Gomi refusing to stop pummeling Luiz Azeredo after he was out and their fight had already been stopped? Seriously have a little perspective. That being said, I'm happy the Fireball Kid is back to his winning ways even if Tyson Griffin has been one of my favorite fighters since his epic fight with Frankie Edgar. I'm interested to see who they line Gomi up with next.
