Wally Mathews: "Blah blah blah, jab, Mayweather, blah blah blah lifestyle."

Nick Charles: "YEAH! YEAH! I COMPLETELY agree!"

I didnt watch the fight but I tell you what, in all the other Vs fights (and I have seen them all since they started), Wally tells it like it is. He is so politically incorrect it is ****ing awesome. He honestly doesnt give a **** what anyone says. Its funny too when he starts attacking the other commentator when he says dumb ****.

Hatton is a good boxer, but in this fight against Lazcano he almost got knock down 2 times, and Lazcano was coming of a 15 months inactivity

Sounded very much like they were bitter about the real home of boxing putting on such a huge event to me.

It would have been ok if they were actually commentating the fight that was currently happening.

I am all for a bit of **** talking, but they were barely holding themselves back the entire fight. They sounded like two chicks in the locker room talking about a mutual friend. Neither of them wanted to sound like a total ass, so they would throw in an arbitrary, "But he is winning this round", at the 10 second bell.

The rest was about his lifestyle and fights that happened in the past.

I am not much of a critic, by any means.
I like it when commentators aren't afraid to say it like it is, but they weren't funny or interesting, and what they chose to focus on was completely irrelevant to the fight.

If they were looking to be more entertaining, they failed.

:good Thanks for making this thread, because that's exactly what I wanted to say. I rewatched a the fight with the sound turned down, and enjoyed it much more!

In the 10th round, Hatton was momentarily stunned but had clinched and completely recovered some 10-15 seconds later, when the ref warned Lazcano for punching him in the back. When Hatton went to his corner, he was steady on his legs and not at all hurt! Then he lifted his leg while in the corner to show the ref his shoelace was untied. He was not at all hurt when it was being tied, and it didn't take longer than expected.

Then, those two commentators created a false idea that the ref was helping Hatton! In fact, he was just doing his job at that point. There were many times Lazcano held Hatton's right arm with his left, while punching him with his own right. The referee actually didn't do enough to stop Lazcano's holding.

Matthews and Charles seemed to be out of their element calling a fight with a crowd of 55,000. They perhaps felt uncomfortable, since they are used to calling small-time fights in venues that hold 500 people. Maybe that's why they were so negative towards Hatton.

Why should they be kissing his ass? This fight proved nothing at all, put him back in against a legit contender and see what happens..
