Not only do we have Mayweather, but Froch has also booked the May 5th date in Nottingham. Who are your preferred opponents for these two? Who do you think these two will actually face off against in reality?
Did Froch consult the other fighter's promoter before booking the stadium? Thought not. :verysad Anyway, I was hoping he'd face Bute. But with Showtime rejecting that, I think Hearn will set him up with a nice, easy opponent where he'll look good in front of his own fans. As for Mayweather, I wouldn't mind if he picked Canelo.
They will love to see Carl in Nottingham after the super six! Hope it is a good opponent! I will watch both will be a big time difference in the fights. As for Mayweathers opponent, I'm tired of wasting energy on it, I think it will be Berto/Ortiz.
I tend to agree. Froch will be up against someone he will look good against. Not sure Goldenboy will throw Canelo in Mayweather yet, he hasn't been all too impressive yet. Big money bout though. I keep hearing rumours of Cotto-May, I would definitely be up for that.
If Bute doesn't fight Froch in the venue that Froch booked on the date that Froch wants, he's surely ducking him.
Yeah, sure . You can still be bothered to insert numerous smileys, though. Also, if you were on your iPhone, your iPhone would have automatically corrected your 'iphone' to 'iPhone'. Anyway, just read that post back to yourself, and realise how stupid you sound saying 'loses'. Ain't no harm in admitting you didn't know the difference between the two. :good
Back to the thread.... If it's an easy opponent, I'm finding it difficult to think of who it'll be. Doesn't make that much of a difference, I suppose. Even the biggest of names at 168, will be unknowns to the casuals in Nottingham they'll be targeting. As for Canelo, I agree, his handlers won't be willing to sacrifice him unless it's for a hefty price - a price that Mayweather won't be too keen on agreeing. And the more I'm reading about Cotto, the more likely he'll be matched up against Pacquiao :-(. Mayweather really is in a tricky situation. Will he take a gamble on waiting for the Ortiz-Berto result? Sure, if Berto wins, he'll be a reasonable opponent. But if he loses or sustains a cut? I doubt another fight with Ortiz would interest him, either. It wouldn't surprise me if he targets Peterson :think.
Not many options for either guy. Cotto-Pac is pointless, like literally pointless. Which is why I think Cotto may try his hand against Mayweather. Cotto got his revenge against Margarito, but there has always been that doubt surrounding the wraps. In terms of the Pacquiao loss, he was virtually never in it. A lot of rumours of Cotto-May going around on twitter also...just hoping they are true.
