I say again.. please name me another boxer who isn't great.. with a comparable resume of Bivens.. E. Ray x 2... Maxim x 2... Charles x 2.. Johnson.. Please name me another boxer with wins like those against that calibur who isn't considered great. That isn't even including the win he was robbed of against Louis.. nor giving Marciano his toughest test as a HW. Nobody took Marciano into as deep a water as Jersey Joe did.. and we're talking about a guy who 0 losses on his resume. So while it wasn't a win... giving a guy with no losses his toughest fight should count for something.

That is assuming he wasn't trying to get the KO to begin with. HE WAS TRYING TO DO JUST THAT. What is TRYING HARDER going to do. That implies he was kinda trying or trying a little.. is that your premise?

LOL Flea... What a left it was... problem was Luf counters wasn't even close to that golden shot from Walcott. Not only is his premise not logical.. he then makes the fallacy worse by assuming his own concclusion. Thus, certainly not to the quality of a walcott left.

my premise is, louis won more rounds in a hotly contested fight, a fight he , the official and a decent amount of observers thought he won.

giving walcott this imaginery insurmountable lead will change the way they fight the last few rounds because they would have felt going to the cards sin't an option as they would be too far behind.

you can't change the criteria of a fight mate, it isn't logical.

yeah i think he's great, i just don't think it's fair to award him a victory over Louis.

A great asset to the sport, but he was no where near being a great of the sport.

He was a very good fighter, to suggest otherwise is to corrupt the meaning of great.

Wilie Joyce. Beat Ike Williams three times, Chalky Wright and Henry Armstrong. Not great.

Ken Norton. Beat Muhammad Ali, Jimmy Young, Jerry Quarry, actually ranked above Walcott by some. Not great.

Jimmy McFadden. Beat Joe Gans, Kid Lavigne, Kid McPartland. Not great.

What you're describing isn't even rare.

Plus Louis himself apologised to Walcott after he got the decision saying Jersey Joe was the better man. Louis fans try to avoid all the evidence in this one really (not including LUFC on that)
