Oh flea I could bake you a rhubarb pie! If my oven worked. And I learned how to bake. And I was In the same time zone. And you bought the ingredients...

But yeah thanks for the upload. After Zarate fixes my sink I'll watch it.

The term "great" gets bestowed waaaay too liberally.

I wish Kuniaki could explain that 3rd round vs Clemente Sanchez.

Sal was awesome but I'd have backed Marcel to beat him fairly cleanly. For all of Sanchez's virtues, I think it was clear that he was a counter puncher by nature and never functioned with quite the same efficiency against good movers, fellow counter punchers and unorthodox types. Far from incompetent on the front foot; better than, say, Morales or JMM, but not entirely at home either, as Castillo demonstrated. Pedroza might have had a better chance stylistically despite not having Sanchez's lungs or chin, though I'd still favour Marcel slightly in that one. I could envision Sugar Ramos on his best day faring better than Sanchez too. Nelson I'm not sure about. In fact, of all the featherweight champions post 1960ish, I'd probably give Saldivar the best chance of pinning Marcel down. Just a quick impression though and there are a lot of conflicting possibilities in my head when I think about that one.

Very little doubt in my mind that Marcel was great.

What happened to this series? Has Ears done more other than the Norton one? Anyone know?

Thank ****! Thought I was the only one that saw Sanchez stumped by Castillo. He got back into it but every so often the movement and a but of straight shooting stunted his work again.

What d'ya make of the Cowdell/Ford fights. I actually think the Castillo one was the most telling.

Only in accordance with this matchup though; I f'n love Sal' and rate him very highly for 'greatness' and H2H ability, but the punch perfect performances against Lopez that make everyone skim over the less impressive fights? Marcel did that to Gomez and, after about 5 or 6 rounds, Shibata, two highly technical fighters.
