Very Good or Great? Volume 5: Tito Ortiz

I stand by my opinions. Cote and Martin are accomplished amateur boxers and Martin has ventured into professional boxing for a few fights, and Mir? Anyone who argues Mir doesn't have good stand up is just wanting to find something to ***** about.

 

I told you in that other thread exactly what sucked about their boxing technique and I told you why Mir sucks, as well. If you didn't get it then you don't understand anything about the sweet science of pugilism.atsch

 

Well **** yes they suck comparing them to actual career boxers! In the MMA aspect of striking, they are above average. Look from a MMA perspective for once.

 

I am, they suck for MMA, even. I can name fifty guys with better hands than all of them.

Frank Mir throws the same ****ing combination every goddamn time he engages. He stutter steps forward, chambers his left and then it's left-right-uppercut, rinse, repeat. That's not good striking and the only person it ever worked on was shot China Chinned Nog.

 

You forgot Kongo and battering Nelson from pillar to post.

He hit Kongo because he faked the shot and when Kongo dropped his hands and got ready to sprawl he threw the overhand. It wasn't like he went toe-to-toe with him and boxed him up. And Nelson ****ing sucks and he wasn't even working him over that badly standing. He just kneed the **** out of him in the clinch and against the fence.

Mir's hands suck. Your knowledge of pugilism sucks. It's irrefutable.

Oh, I have half as much and then some on you buddy, and I think that's the problem. You obviously don't understand anything about what constitutes proper punching, footwork, defense, anything. If you did have any better training experience than that halfass MCMAP that I told you sucked before, you'd know these things and you wouldn't talk out of your ass by saying things like Frank Mir's patented left-right-uppecut bull charge was "good Muay Thai".

 

Ok well all I can say is next time you see a Marine go tell him his close combat training sucks and slap him. You obviously are to obsessed with focusing on one aspect of someone and running with it. Tool.
