We are introducing new rules how we treat controversial fights. For the purpose of rating boxers we are appointing a panel of elite boxing writers and if their opinion is that the 'wrong fighter won the fight' we will for the purpose of rating the boxers reverse the decsion.
FFS and who pray tell decides who these '' elite '' boxing writers are and how do you know their opinions can't be bought.atsch
It does have the potential to create some very dodgey desicions, but if handled correctly and honestly it may not be such a bad idea, big if though
all that does is create more chances of possible dodgey decisions. the don kings of the world will now take up writing courses, lol.
Apparently it is only for the sake of ratings, it wouldnt overturn the win loss record of a fighter, that can't be done, So this way it wouldnt count on the ratings system...
What if a fighter wins an IBO title fight and the IBO and their boxing writers don't like the decision they can reverse who is the champion ? This smells of Phillip "it's not perfect guys but it's the best option we have" Austin and Danny Grinning Greeny. The stench is horrible. The IBO just makes up their own BS rules anyway so they may as well be able to change who "they" think won a fight irrespective of the official result. This is the same organisation who thinks it's relevant to give a fighter a shot at a vacant IBO cruiserweight title when he last fought as a middleweight 3 divisions lower.
