Vitali would probably get an exception if he asked the WBC council about a unification fight with the WBA beltholder Haye.

They wouldn't allow him to fight Adamek but a unification fight between Vitali's WBC and Haye's WBA belt should take precedence over the mandatory defense vs. Solis according to the WBC and WBA rules I believe.

Dave-Slave got it right. Haye now has a choice between either Vitali or Chagaev.

    That's true...

Although then it would still be 7-8 months between fights for Vitali.

Considering how bad Chagaev looked in his last fight, I wouldn't hold my breath on Haye choosing Vitali.

I agree. Haye would probably have to settle for a crappy payday vs. Chagaev (shitty opponent to market in the UK, mandatory split @ 25/30%, no international interest in the fight) but on the flipside the risk of Haye losing this fight is quote low IMO. Plus no rematch clause nor options on Chageav.

In his next fight, Haye could make good money against Vitali with significant risk of losing or make much less vs. Chagaev with much much lower risk. And after disposing of Chagaev he'd still leave the door open for a final big payday against either brother down the line.

True, Chagaev is an ill fighter suffering from Hepatitis, after his awful performance against Skelton, i thought it was cruel to put him in with Wlad.

This is bull****. Why wlad would want to still fight this undeserving novice i'll never know. I highly doubt wlad will still take the june date with haye now. What a duck. This is just as bad as haye's first two ducks. Not as bad as the third, but easily as bad as the first two.

HAYE REFUSED to allow Wlad an interim fight...everything would have been set for July 2nd, if Haye would have been okay with Wlad fighting Chisora first.

And if TV and location would have worked for April, this fight would also have been made.

How is that Wlad ducking?? :huh:huh

And the Klitschko side was okay with Haye taking an interim fight also.

    So, to summarize everything:

July 2nd was the earliest date that would work for both TV stations and the venue.

Klitschko side said we want an interim fight, 9-10 months off is too long, and Haye can take an interim fight too if he wants.

    Haye side said no.

So, instead of Haye lining up two fights, first Chagaev, and then Wladimir, Haye just has one fight now, with Chagaev.

Does that make sense on the part of Haye? To anyone?

    Wow, very good call.

Now if Haye can get his ass up to fight Chagaev (who I consider to be no threat at all in his current shape but having a common recent opponent with Wlad would boost a fight with Wladimir nevertheless) my dreams would come true.

EDIT: Wait, is Haye - Wlad off? What's with Boxrec.com then?

Wladimir wanted an interim fight (April 20th against Chisora).
The Klitschko side also said Haye could fight an interim.
    Haye said NO to this.

So as of right now there is no date for Wlad-Haye. Not unless Haye changes his mind.

How comes Wlad vs Chisora could be made for April 20th but not Wlad vs Haye? Is it a problem with Sky dates?

    Need a stadium for Wlad-Haye.

Wlad-Chisora can be in a smaller venue, such as SAP.

Chisora is a straight boob. He'll be easy work for both Wlad and Haye. Although I can see Wlad coming out unmarked I agree that two months between fights is pushing it especially against an elite fighter like Haye. Regardless of what some knowitalls claim Haye isn't the type of bloke you take on an easy saturday. Wlad will have to come in fully fresh and fit if he wants a chance.

Compromis and make it a September bout. Fights usually do pretty well in the fall. Not that would be necessary, its the biggest HW fight since Tyson Lewis.

Anyway, I'm stoked make it happen!
