https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcLWPGGeDwI Wilder comes off as a more humble fighter even in victory.:respect
I knew Deontay was going to win last night by outboxing Stiverne, which I said he would pre fight, but I wasn't thrilled with him personally, but I agree he's came across very likable in the pre fight pieces on Showtime and in the interview afterward, he seems like a good guy, and hopefully he can have a decent run up until Wlad dominates him.
I am up to something. Trying to bury the hatchet I had with Wilder. When he was first coming up I was indifferent towards him. About how I feel currently about Browne, Martin or Washington. Doing what he should be doing against who he should be doing it against. But then he started getting hyped but wouldnt go after bigger fish than the Gaverns, Firthas, and shot Liakovich's, and he choked a hore while he's claiming to be a family man. Seems he's put aside his hore choking, and showed some class, and proven me wrong about his boxing ability(at least for now) and gave a very humbling post fight interview. Maybe as an AMERICAN, I might be able to actually take some pride in one of my national fighters. Im already a Jennings and Thompson fan, but Thompson has been 50/50 on the A level, and Jennings I think is jumping in too deep too soon. Maybe, in a yr or two, Wlad will retire, and Wilder might be able to give America a legit and likable HW Champion.:think
Same here, i thought Stiverne would catch him with something, but Wilder proved me wrong. But what about his previous 32 opponents....is all forgiven? Hes got Joshua and Fury (Tyson) to take care of, if/Wlad retires, those two will be Wilders biggest threats. I find it hard to root against Wilder now, his interviews do seem humble, and humble guys go a long way. But as a Fury fan, ill be rooting for the Gypo :good Wilder vs Fury, outside of Wlad, will be the biggest fight to be made.
Im also a Fury fan. Been a fan since his first fight with Chisora. And even though he's anything but humble, Im still a fan b/c he's entertaining, in a comical way cuz he's such a goofy oaf. Also, Tyson is becoming a smarter more economical fighter himself, and proving he's also an elite level fighter beating a multitude of styles. I do hope one of these guys can succeed where Wlad left off and become a dominant champ, ie Price, Fury, Joshua, Wilder, Jennings, Parker, Ruiz Jr. Looks like Helenius preChisora injuries ended his hope of taking over, and another American prospect named Daniel Martz seems to have stalled. Though, there's still a lotta hope for him b/c he's got similar attributes as Helenius, but he's only 22. :thumbsup
