That is irrelevant mate - his fact is correct with his first challenge against a Timid Taff

I had Usyk 2 rounds up at the end of round 7 - Bellew showed Tyson Fury like defence yet hardly layed a glove on Usyk himself and the Champ never in any bit of trouble at all during what was a routine defence.

You should know mate many 'unbeaten' records are padded out more frequent than a heavily blooded George & Danny

Spud O'Connor in charge with similar type judges meant Usyk needed 2 knockdowns every round to get a draw

I never really liked Bellew, i felt he was a hypocrite and spread lies to suit his own agenda, but last night I saw real honesty from the man. I thought I'd enjoy seeing him lose but I didn't like that at all, his head bouncing off the ropes like that. Its funny when you hope a guy loses and when they do you feel bad for them, I guess when its a brutal KO you would have to be pretty hash to actually enjoy that. Saying that I didn't blink much of an eye when Khan got splatted by Canelo :ciappa:

anyway seeing Tony's heartbreak at having lost in the way he did and his honesty at being bettered, it showed a side of him I finally found genuine. He goes on about being real but I never felt that much before, until he just admitted, the guy was a class above him, you meet people like that in life and unfortunately you have to lose. I'm sure he will say things to irritate again at some point but how he handled this loss does at least show some insight into his real character, its takes courage to get in there against a guy like Usyc, knowing there is a large possibility of getting spattered on the canvas.

Tony Bellew.. Well what can you say. The "fat Scouser" did himself and his family proud, setting them up for life.
Not an elite fighter, we all know that, but he has proved himself to be a very good one. He has his haters, but I always liked his passion for the game. He earnt his big money late on in his career to set himself and his family for life. Sky got my £20 last night because it was Tony that was facing Usyk. With his heart and self belief I always got the feeling that he might pull something out of the bag.
I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him. He will take a good long break and eat some crap food and probably be back as a pundit in 2019.
Always gave his best, and now can enjoy the fruits of his labour..

Bellew's main objective in this fight was the huge bag of PPV loot and getting out healthy.

World champions? None. But I don't claim to be world class.
Stepped up to fight Cleverly and got beat in his hometown.
Stepped up to fight someone he labelled a "dwarf" and turned his back before getting stopped in 6.
Stepped up again and got KTFO.

The turned the back thing makes me chuckle, i’ve read this a few times from different people whom clearly dislike the fella.

He was fighting a southpaw in Stevenson. He did exactly the same thing last night several times when trying to evade Usyk’s left hand. He turns to his right and lifts his left shoulder up to protect his chin because he’s fighting a southpaw, not because he’s a coward or a quitter. He never quit against Stevenson...last night he still tried to get up despite being in Narnia and he’s been floored plenty of times in his career and still got up to win on several occasions. He’s demonstrated heart and character throughout, yes he’s fallen short 3 times but still managed to win a world title.

210lbs heavyweights shouldn’t need to “drop” to cruiser weight. In an era of 24 hour weigh ins and a 200lbs cruiser limit, your typically cruiser will be a small heavy. There’s no reason why a fighter on the cusp shouldn’t be able to alternate between the two divisions with limited impact (it happens more regularly in MMA between LHW and HW).

What I could buy is Bellew blowing up a bit after the haye fight, getting the opportunity for Usyk, and coming into camp at 234 and heavier than he should have been. Not easy, but pretty much what gassiev does. If that had had an impact, it’s bad prep rather than an issue with dropping a division.

It wasnt a given that he would get out healthily though. That was a nasty KO. He may have done it to cash out but it still took balls to get in there with Usyk, and its not like he folded, he gave it a go. Jesus am I defending Bellew now, last month I couldn't stand the man
