Funny thing is, he's still trying to act like an arrogant ***** even now. He knows that it's his persona outside the ring that's giving him popularity and money so he can't abandon it completely. But at the same time outside the ring is the only place he can try to gain the respect and adulation of the fans since his more passive style at the higher weights certainly won't win him any adulation. That's why we get all these conflicting statements from him. It's all pretty amusing to watch honestly. :yep

In the end, I honestly think he's failing to change his persona, but I don't care, he's reaping what he has sowed and he got rich in the process so I won't be feeling sorry for him if he never gets the respect he thinks he deserves.

i just watched the interview and no more then a minute after he says its a "act" he says "this is me, let me be me" floyd is a ******.

when hes a old man and looks back at how dumb he was hes gonna say it was all a act to save face before he dies.

His advisers are to blame. How could they let him do interviews??? they do realize how he makes a fool of himself in these interviews?? sometimes it makes me wonder if these advisers are actually making fun of him behind his back:yep

Because his reputation as that is already solidified. People are instilled with hating Mayweather regardless of what he says. He could say he was a superhero or something silly it doesn't matter. I see your point, but I think his persona is into act 6 so people and casuals already have an opinion on him.

Ali did the same thing by the way.

Yeah, i agree. It's a bit pathetic actually, to see him try to change what people think of him. That's why I figure he should just own it, it's too late anyway.

wow. you guys really missed my point. floyd doesn't fight anymore. he's a completely defensive fighter and this is not how he used to be. the fact is that he has stopped fighting offensively all-together because he only cares about money.

he would be the draw he is if he went out there and ****in fought and knocked guys out in spectacular fashion while making them miss like he used to. pac isn't out there looking like a ****** on espn all the time and he makes just as much if not more. why? because he's a great ****in boxer who doesn't mind taking a punch if it makes for a more entertaining fight and he's able to put on a great performance.

when you're the best at what you do, you make money. it doesn't matter if you act like a ****** or not. what i was saying is it would be cool if he didn't act like a ****** and just fought like he used to. he would make just as much money and he would actually be respected. on the flip side, i said that it kind of sucks because he actually IS a ****** and he doesn't give a **** about fighting the best, or winning fights in spectacular fashion like he used to. he just wants to coast through to retirement with a grip of cash.

    what a ****in waste.

    Were you born yesterday, son?

Floyd-Oscar is the biggest ppv yet to date. Yes it is. But I think you are forgetting that over a million ppv was not new to Oscar at the time. What was Floyd's numbers in a title fight against Baldo? Yeah, go check it, 350K. Floyd could not even break 500k ppv before Oscar made him. :deal

He always say that he'll make the fight entertaining. He always brags that he'll destroy/massacre his opponents. The people believes and then ends up being disappointed.
