Very true statement from Floyd Mayweather jnr.

    I don't think his actual ability is overrated, it's rated fine in my opinion. In general, if you look at it honestly, he's more underrated than overrated. People tend to overrated exciting fighting styles in the ring, styles that can be defensive, slick and require actual understanding will always be underrated and somehow ignored by the public. Mayweather didn't become popular rising based on his trash talk, if anything he didn't trash talk much early in his career at all, he was more quiet and humble. His style is what got him rated high enough because early in his career he did mix it up, go toe to toe and exchanged blood for blood. It's when he started moving up in weight more and more than he had to rely on his defense which is why he's considered great, adapting in a boxing match is always a sign of greatness because in boxing you never get enough room to adapt unless you have the natural ability to do so.

    This is true to an extent as the drawing power of Oscar and Hatton cannot be overlooked at the same time.
