Hmm,I don't know but I liked to see some of those veterans in good shape fought, most of them that I saw had good experience and employs it when fighting.
Gaspar Ortega has been talked about a lot here lately, you might look him up. Archie Moore, of course.
Im getting the feeling this is guys who fought for a long time more then just age? Had a lot of fights, long career etc lots of name opponents. Checkout Manuel Medina.
Define veteran. Do you mean old school, like 100+ years ago? Or do you mean old fighter, as in a guy who was great near the end of his career? In the first case, can't go wrong with Benny Leonard. And in the second case, I really like watching Harada's slower but more noticeable work in the first Fammo fight.
Me too… till I saw “Archie Moore of course” I wasn’t sure if Gasper served. My favourite “Veteran” was Barney Ross he took out a bunch of opposition, crawled around dragging all his comrades to safety and collected guns, held his position under fire and was free to go because of how much he accomplished in his duration of service (that’s my recollection of the events) Danny Nardico said “Everything was easy after the war”
